The party emphasizes the need for collective ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange to eliminate the exploitation of labor by capital and to ensure that the wealth produced by workers is equitably distributed among them.<br /><br />Economically, the CPUSA supports policies that aim to redistribute wealth and power from the capitalist class to the working class, including progressive taxation, nationalization of key industries, and comprehensive social welfare programs to provide for the basic needs of all citizens.
