Netanyahu now repeating Trump's ultimatum. This would mean the ceasefire framework has essentially been trashed, with full US backing, and the war will resume in a matter of days -- now with even FEWER restrictions than what had been meagerly imposed by the Biden Administration

Why does Hamas, which started the war, persist in holding hostages? You write like they’re innocents in all this.

Israel is literally holding almost 10,000 Palestinian hostages, most of whom still have no charges filed against them, in concentration camps where they are brutally tortured and mistreated. Stfu

This appears to be a bluff to get more hostages released.

Until the killing resumes, it’s just words and negotiation tactics.

"Egypt's opposition to Trump's resettlement plan is particularly significant"

This is crucial. The plan faces unified regional opposition, not just from Egypt. Jordan's careful diplomatic balancing act with the medical treatment offer while opposing displacement shows the complexity.

What about this: Both sides release ALL their hostages, the ceasefire holds, and if either party violates the agreement, their more powerful allies (for Israel the U.S., UK, and others, and for Palestine Iran, China, etc.) have full permission to wage war against the violating party. The violating parties' allies will also NOT assist them in this conflict as further punishment. What about that, huh?

At the start of the war, I completely respected Israel's right to defend themselves, as they were attacked with little to no warning. However, at this point, they have gone much too far and are just kicking a dead horse. Like, we got it, bro, you're stronger. Please keep the innocent men and women and children out of this. That doesn't mean I support HAMAS, but I no longer support Israel.
