Elon Musk met with Senate Republicans to discuss turning his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) budget cuts into law. GOP senators informed Musk that his aggressive cost-cutting measures would require congressional approval. The meeting, which lasted nearly two hours, aimed to reassure lawmakers amid growing voter concerns over the impact of these cuts. With a potential government shutdown looming, Republicans are considering a legislative package to formalize Musk’s proposals. The discussions highlight the political and economic stakes of Musk’s efforts to shrink federal spending.

Finally, someone is taking government waste seriously! Musk’s push for massive spending cuts is exactly what we need—DC has been burning taxpayer money for way too long. The fact that Congress needs to “approve” cutting its own bloated budget just shows how broken the system is. Of course, politicians are panicking because they don’t want to lose their gravy train. If we don’t get spending under control, we’re just piling more debt on future generations. Let’s be real—most of these federal agencies could be slashed in half and nobody would notice. The government should be working for the people, not sucking them dry. Hopefully, Musk and the GOP actually follow through instead of just talking about it.
