In 2015 U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump issued a proposal to build a wall along the Mexico-U.S. border. The wall would extend along the 1,900 mile border and would prevent illegal goods and people from entering the U.S. In 2013 the Government Accountability Office reported that the border patrol had intercepted 61% of individuals who had attempted to cross the border that year. Analysts say that building a wall along the entire border is impossible since it parts of it contain rocky, uneven terrain. Proponents argue that the wall will cut down on the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs into the U.S. Opponents argue that the wall is impossible to build and illegal immigration into the U.S. has declined significantly since the 2008 financial crisis.

I don't have enough knowledge for an opinion pertaining to this.
@46492CW4yrs4Y
Yes, but not to keep people out, solely for aesthetic pleasure.
@ISIDEWITH4yrs4Y
No, but increase border patrol, and improve our visa program. A wall would be a waste of money.
@957QQY73yrs3Y
No, but abolish the 1965 immigration system and establish a brand new immigration system that will benefit the American people.
@9438QSR3yrs3Y
No, but we should abolish the 1965 immigration system and establish a brand new immigration system that will benefit the American people.
@9TKD9PK7mos7MO
No, but instead abolish the 1965 immigration system and establish a brand new immigration system that will benefit the American people.
@9D47SPK2yrs2Y
No, but improve border patrol and our visa program. A wall would be overkill and a waste of money.
@9D8TB682yrs2Y
No, but increase our military presence along the southern border and the Canadian border and coasts too and we should mobilize the world to put a stop to sex drug and slave trafficking but let migrants across the border

It does nothing of the sort.You are doing that thing of not distinguishing between the groups of immigrants. Those that came here legally and waited in line, often many years, hate illegal immigrants more than native born Americans.Illegal immigrants are the ones coming here and not assimilating, throw all of their support behind Democrats who give them free stuff, etc
@D3mocratPonie12MO
I am addressing the far right who hates immigrants and different cultures, not people who object to illegal immigration, if you are confused that is understandable it is Twitter after all
@LionKen12MO
I'm not the confused one here, Zaid.
You made no reference to the "far right" until I responded. So if that was what you were talking about in your original post you worded it poorly.

NYC Mayor Calls for Reversal Of Sanctuary City Laws
@SalamiArianna1Y
Yeah, China and Venezuela are two that I know of that won't take any of the illegals back. I guess it's going to come down to diplomacy - we will have to find some way to force them to take them back.
@ShyGelding1Y
The feds can transport them and leave them inside their home airports. Wether the other countries want it or not. That's how the deportations usually occur. After that it's their issue
@SalamiArianna1Y
Venezuela will not let flights in from the United States and Mexico.

Trump's Claims Of A Migrant Crime Wave Are False
@UnanimousQuiche1Y
How many college student are murdered every year by fellow Americans. Do you have those numbers? Just so we can compare.
@WiseT4riff1Y
It's easy to claim crime is down when your Soros prosecutors and judges stop prosecuting crimes.

Trump's Claims Of A Migrant Crime Wave Are False
@CivilLibertiesKoala1Y
I am a deep Blue Dem, through & through but a few years back my own son was jumped, robbed & beaten by about 10 non-English speaking guys & was taken to hospital. Those of us that live amongst migrants are being impacted & this Dem has grown weary of that kind of violent crime.
@EuphoricCivilLiberties1Y
Your one example doesn’t disprove the fact that immigrants commit fewer crimes than citizens.
@CivilLibertiesKoala1Y
If the criminals are not prosecuted then the data isn’t accurate. Of each of the Americans killed in the past 2 weeks the violent offenders were arrested in prior incidents & freed without prosecution. Why are you so desperate to deny reality. What do you get out of it?

We owe zero to any country. Furthermore, citizens owe zero to our govt.
Your feelings have no moral authority. And if you believe our govt has acted corruptly, then disband it instead of asking its citizens to pay for their transgressions. We are foes with govt, not benefactors.
@GrudgingTurtle1Y
You clearly have no idea what we’ve done to SA. We owe them a lot.
@UnstoppableOatmeal1Y
citizens don't owe anyone anything via govt mistakes. disband the govt, not the citizens wallets via more egregious taxes

@solo-von-kickpaw4MO
yay finally trump can finish the border problem I'm sick of my cousins living at our house because their school is filled with illegal immigrants and their kids can't go to school there
@Renaldo-Moon4MO
Ok I guess that was kinda of stupid of me
Although once again that's one place one school. And I do think its better to give people with no where else to go to a warm place to sleep and have people who can go remote do so. Now this is a terrible execution of that and no I don't think this should happen in a school because in person learning is better
@solo-von-kickpaw4MO
"this is a terrible execution" I agree if you can't handle, house, or feed all the immigrants don't bring them in. Don't bite off more than you can chew you know build the border (but) make points of entry filter the immigrants to make sure no criminals or traffickers can get thrue and because it's slower we can keep up with their needs so the resources that we give them dont get overwhelmed and common we are already billions of dollars in debt this article says it all -> "Biden admin gave 300K+ smartphones to migrants, cost over $360K a day". we… Read more

@GraciousOrange1Y
This must be why a record number of people have crossed, because it’s so hard to cross.
@DinosaurHazel1Y
As of August, more encounters occurred in 2023 than in 2022, and that’s without September data.
I know more than you.
@GraciousOrange1Y
More *encounters*, but that doesn't mean more people crossed without authorization. More did in 2000, for example, but there were only half as many BP agents to apprehend them in 2000.
Biden administration waives 26 federal laws to allow border wall construction in South Texas
@P0pularVot3Macaw1Y
Trump was right about the wall, you need barriers to deter people. It will not stop everyone but it will significantly reduce the numbers and give border agents more time to intercept illegal immigrants.
@HopefulLlama1Y
You almost dont even need walls, just stop giving them the ability to get IDs and licenses and employment and it solves 99% of the problem.
@P0pularVot3Macaw1Y
All they need to do is to travel to San Fransisco and live in a tent on the streets and they'll get 700$ a month + Netflix and phone sub.
The booming business of smuggling people into the USA
@HareJasmine1Y
Assimilation MUST become immigration requirement & I’ll define that as (1) Learn & embrace US Constitution, Civics, Customs, and Capitalism — these are the cornerstones of what makes US Great & why you wanted to come here — so keep it going (2) work & pay taxes (3) obey US Laws
@SuperPACQuokka1Y
The illegal immigration at southern border is as intended.
Reduction in illegal entries is a relatively simple process.
Problem is there is too much money to be made.
Don’t count on a long term solution any time soon.
@HareJasmine1Y
Is there a reason where we couldn’t a minimum take their fingerprints and a DNA swab before just releasing them? They don’t have the same constitutional protections when entering the country illegally.
12 Killed In Mexico Shootout Near Texas Border
@Patriot-#17761Y
Time for Texas to seize control of its borders, finish the wall, deport every last criminal alien, drive out the federal agents, and secede from the Union! That is the only rightful remedy!
@9CJ6CB61Y
So they have the money for miles of razor wire (which wouldn’t last five minutes in a human rights trial), but not even enough to use their national guard at maximized capacity? They have the resources too, the government is just helping too slowly, which is a responsibility that lies in the hands of congress, not the president.
@Patriot-#17761Y
Then why is he not acting when Congress has for generations passed laws that enable him to act, and both Congress and the States demand his action?
