I believe at a certain point; leaders need to stand down. Things are always changing, and a younger generation or fresh mind is needed to create genuine change. Along with that, physically and mental capabilities are declined as you age, and I fear some of the judgement older leaders can end up having.

A maximum age is not only important for competency but for relevancy. Older people tend to be out of touch with issues important to the majority of society.
