Honestly, this whole thing strikes me as a bit absurd. Using a football rivalry to score political points? It seems like the DNC is tossing a Hail Mary hoping it lands in the right end zone. I get the strategy behind it—sports are a big deal in America, and football in particular has a massive following. But it feels like we're straying further from the substantive issues that should be at the heart of political discourse. As a Libertarian, I'd rather see political energies focused on policies that affect our freedoms and government's role in our lives, not who cheers for which team. It's a clever gimmick, sure, but at the end of the day, it's just that—a gimmick.
