Limiting gay marriage is unconstitutional according to the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment: "nor shall any State ... deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

  @Aiden-ColonIndependent from Massachusetts  commented…7mos7MO

I respectfully disagree with your statement. I know states should have their own power but it is a human right. Same sex marriage should be legalized everywhere as it is a basic human right of equality,

 @9V2K3SW from California  agreed…7mos7MO

Everyone should be able to give love and get love. Commitment can be very important it all depends on the people involved

Evolution and Human Origins

The conversation explores evidence for evolution, addressing misconceptions about human uniqueness and the gradual process of species change over time, highlighting DNA evidence and natural selection.

I want true proof of evolution, not just the ideas of one scientist.

@8J34B6Z8MO

Humans aren't really set apart in a biological sense. Remember, we still have tail bones. What distinguishes us is our advanced cognitive abilities, culture, and technology. Elephants, for instance, have complex social structures and can use tools, but they don't build skyscrapers or write symphonies. Our evolutionary path led to a brain capable of abstract thought, language, and innovation. This allowed us to manipulate our environment to an unprecedented degree. However, this doesn't make us fundamentally different; rather, it highlights the diverse evolutionary strategies that different species have adopted.

 @@1876-Elbert7MO

Your argument makes some sense, but how can you prove that humans came from apes? I do not disagree with natural selection, but with evolution, everything had to go perfectly.

Homosexuals can't get "married" because marriage is between a man and a woman. They are forcing their opinions on us by demanding that the government sanction their immorality even when Christian taxpayers disagree with it.

 @Renaldo-Moon5MO

And I may too be a minority but I will speak up for and fight for people whose basic rights are stripped away from them. I will not allow anyone to strip away the right of bodily autonomy and to control others like they are your puppet. I also will not allow hating on people for things they cant control and hurt no one to go unchecked as it has for far too long. Like our ancestors who fought for escape the oppressive British the Revolutionary War, to end slavery in the Civil War, to give women the right to vote, to bring down the Nazis in World War Two, to fight for the end to blacks having second class citizenship I fight to end hate and oppression and to create a world equal for all.

@MAGA_Deplorable4MO

In your worldview, you have no rights. The ultimate authority in your life must be government, since you deny the existence of God, so if government takes away doctors' "rights" to murder unborn children and mutilate third-grade schoolgirls in the name of your depraved heathen sex cult, then you can't whine about it, because what they say is final. Also, in your worldview, you have no right to be concerned about any "injustice" anywhere, because right and wrong don't exist and therefore might makes right and it's all survival of the fittest. Since your worldview is laughably irrational and absurd, you can't consistently make any criticism of anything I say. It's hilarious to watch.

If we weren't born to be gay then why are we unable to just be straight huh?

@MAGA_Deplorable5MO

You are entitled to your own opinion but you are not entitled to your own truth. You are not a god who can shape reality based on your feelings or emotions. You cannot escape biological reality.

 @Renaldo-Moon5MO

And what evidence is there that homosexual behaviors are not natural...

…common sense that homosexuality serves no purpose in human life and is just plain wrong

Common sense is not a measure of truth; reality often defies intuition.

Whose purpose are you referring to? It serves the purpose of gay individuals who want loving and fulfilling relationships. If you’re talking about reproductive purposes, not all aspects of human life need to directly contribute to reproduction.

What exactly do you mean by “wrong,” and by what standard?

Animals, including people, were not meant to mate with those of the same gender…

”Not meant to” by whom? Evolution has no intent, but it did produce a ridiculous amount of gay animals. (Pub Med Central)Read more

@TheHillbillyLord4MO

The purpose of sex is to reproduce. Without reproduction, there is no purpose of sex. I believe that all couples should strive to reproduce and have kids at some point in their lifetime, but gay couples can't do that, though they could adopt I guess. What I don't like is how the government and public are openly accepting homosexuality, encouraging it. We should be trying to stop kids who are thinking about being gay from being gay. We need to set these kids straight, literally, before they go gay, because at that point, it could be too late to help them. I'm not saying I hate gay people, though I wouldn't want to be friends with them either or work with them, I'm saying I hate how we are supporting and encouraging homosexuality in our communities, by openly accepting them and stopping those who are trying to shame them.

@SkepTex4MO

I’d appreciate it if you would address what I said instead of restating your opinion. Again, where does this purpose come from? Again, sex has no purpose. It has functions. As you would learn, if you were willing, animals use sex for multiple functions. Do you have a reason I should believe what you’re saying? The government accepts gay people by extending to them the same rights as everyone else. The government does not “encourage” people to be gay. Do you have a reason to say it does? People who are “thinking about being gay” are probably at least a littl…  Read more
