I would quite literally drop everything and party if the government shut down – they're doing more harm than good. The State governments can handle everything better than you morons are.

 @9KYXZJZ from Massachusetts  commented…1yr1Y

The biggest responsibility of the government is to provide for its people, if its defended it can't do that. So that's incredibly important

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  corrected…1yr1Y

No, the one, the ONLY responsibility of government is to protect the preexisting God-given individual rights of life, liberty and property – and in fact, anything beyond that is ABUSE and grounds for nullification and secession from the Union.

 @9KYPB4K from Pennsylvania  commented…1yr1Y

Congress needs to hurry their hinnies up.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  commented…1yr1Y

Last time they shut down, the sun still rose in the morning where I live

 @9KY6LGG from Washington  commented…1yr1Y

Oh, and let's not forget that the federal government didn't even EXIST between 1776 and 1781 (during which time the united States of America defeated the greatest military power in world history.

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…1yr1Y

Not for my family. My dad’s military, still in it too, and would be directly affected by it, often very poorly.

 @9KYT2DL from New York  commented…1yr1Y

Empires last around 250 years. We're at 248. Our government is on the verge of collapsing and they have no one to blame but themselves. I'm moving out of this country as soon as I get the chance.

I think that the two parties should cooperate to avoid issues like this.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  commented…1yr1Y

Yeah – the Democrats need to stop being stubborn donkeys and accept the realistic ideas of the House Freedom Caucus.

 @9KYQ7JX from Pennsylvania  commented…1yr1Y

I wish that there was more compromise.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  commented…1yr1Y

I don't. I wish conservatives stopped being sissies and fought with every fibre of their being for limited government and balanced budgets.

 @9KYWZXKRepublican from Texas  commented…1yr1Y

The government is a bunch of immature man babies who cant come to an agreement because they are too busy screaming about party colors

This news topic has a huge impact on the entire country, so it should be the news topic shown the most to the public.

I believe that our government as is right now, is pretty dumb, as we keep sending foreign aid to countries while struggling with our own.

 @9KYRDWTcommented…1yr1Y

How can you shut the government down and there are problems everyday in the world

 @9KYWFDM from Pennsylvania  commented…1yr1Y

 @9KYT9FKRepublican from Florida  commented…1yr1Y

 @9KYTZ4B from Texas  commented…1yr1Y

serious thing that is not getting the proper spotlight. Our country is falling apart. Who cares about a ceasfire in a nother country or hostages on Haiti.

 @9KZ3DY4 from Illinois  commented…1yr1Y

We need to stop government spending on foreign topics, and focus on domestic problems.

 @9KYTD5Z from North Carolina  commented…1yr1Y

We have too much disagreement between parties. People would rather prevent the other party from succeeding than having a safe country.

 @9KYPKWP from New York  commented…1yr1Y

The most important thing is what is going on in our country at this time with our own government.
