White privilege is how white people have more rights than black people, and some people struggle because it is a bit wrong.

 @9KG7QM6 from Arkansas  agreed…1yr1Y

In my experience, people who reject the idea of white privilege tend to be white people who feel like they got themselves where they are. They think the idea of having a leg up is ridiculous, because they don’t feel as though they had one. In reality, white privilege is much more insidious than that. These ideas of racial inequality are deeply rooted in our nations history and ancestors, so most people do not realize they are biased towards a particular group.

 @9KG9SD5Republican from Indiana  disagreed…1yr1Y

There are more white people I feel that struggle because they are white. The other races because they are a different race sometimes get more privilege due to the color of the skin

 @9KG962F from California  disagreed…1yr1Y

white privilege isn't that white people have more legal rights, they have more social privileges such as respect and aren't socially seen as less than. some struggle to understand it because they see minorities experiencing an increase in rights and just automatically assume that everyone's equal now only because there is no legal differences. however, the way they are seen socially greatly impacts the way they are treated in various institutions and so continue to be disadvantaged.

 @9KG9FFHWomen’s Equality from New York  agreed…1yr1Y

I do not think that white people have more rights than others, however white people may be treated better or more leniently than other people.

I SEE RACISM MORE TOWARDS WHITE PEOPLE. WE HAVE THE MOST DISCRIMINATION FROM BLACKS BUT OF COURSE EVERYTHING IS ABOUT THEM BECAUSE THEIR GREAT GRANDPARENTS WERE SLAVES. NEWS FLASH IF IT WASN'T FOR WHITE PEOPLE BLACK PEOPLE WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN A LIFE IN AMERICA. WHITE PRIVALEGE IS NOT A THING. EVERYONE HAS THE SAME AMOUNT OF PRIVALEGE IN AMERICA. JUST BECAUSE YOUR BLACK FATHER SHOT SOMEONE AND WENT TO JAIL DOES NOT MEAN THAT MY WHITE FATHER WHO THOUGHT ABOUT HIS DECISIONS AND WORKED HARD FOR OUR FAMILY MEANS I DESERVE DISCRIMINATION.

 @9K9BKZW from South Dakota  disagreed…1yr1Y

Our country is built on slave labor, if someone is unwilling to look at history and see that then they are sure to be blind to racism.

EVERYONE HAS THE SAME AMOUNT OF PRIVALEGE IN AMERICA

The data says otherwise. Blacks are near-consistently twice as likely to be unemployed than whites.Show image

People don't understand "white privilege" because they are white themselves and don't see what happens to people who are white. It happens in other things too, like homophobia and other such forms of discrimination, they are the "privileged one" of that argument and don't come across what happens to people who are the ones being discriminated against. Because they don't see it, they refuse to acknowledge its existence and then when people bring it up they pretend it doesn't exist.

 @9KCQ3P4 from Oregon  agreed…1yr1Y

People who can't understand the concept of white privilege have never gone through those struggles that a minority goes through so they fail to see the importance of it. They believe there is no such thing as privilege since being handed everything becomes a norm to them.

 @9KCCV29 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I don't think that white privilege exists in modern-day America.

 @9KDCCMXWomen’s Equality from Tennessee  disagreed…1yr1Y

White privilege does still exist, and for all we know it will probably continue. White privilege does exist because there are studies today in our current time that are showing/testing this theory. For example, there is a study where they take white kids to go steal something and they see how officers, store owners and etc react, and then they do the same but with a person of color, the results show that the white privilege is still on going today.

 @9KHSFX9Republican from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I think that term can be taken out of proportion and I would explain it by saying that "white-privlage" is a term that people use when they feel like white people have supremacy over other races

 @9KNC9J6 from Illinois  agreed…1yr1Y

Many say well you get away with this because you are white, but If I were to do it I would be in jail. Sometimes thats true, but it gets blown out of proportion a lot more than it should.

 @9K9LSC9Libertarian from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

It is hard for some to grasp the idea that they are privileged solely based on the color of their skin. Racism is still a prominent issue, so white privilege will continue to exist until racism is fully gone.

 @9KFF2PX from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

In my opinion "white privilege" is a societal privilege for the whites against the non-whites. I think many people struggle to understand the meaning of it because they think that whites all over the world are the same and all have that privilege, which is false. Many whites all over the world struggle with inequality, class, gender, or physical ability. These whites are struggling in life and some cases can't do anything to help it. It's not simply saying "white privilege" because we're not all the same. Millions of differences compare us apart whether it's ethnicity, gender, or even skin color. So, I think we should teach people more about this idea and let them know what it's like.

 @9KCQ6ST from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

they will struggle with it because they never seen it or heard of it, and I would explain it as white people getting an advantage on everyone else

 @9KBVNXQ from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

because the Anti-Racism is bad for people and also bad for the whole government and sometimes bad for each presdent

 @9KDZFB2 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

'White privilege' is acknowledging the advantages tied to being seen as white in society, like an invisible backpack of benefits.

 @9KCRTFR from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I think people get confused with white privilege because of stereotypical reasons and the greater chance at freedom and other things. I think another reason some people question White Privilege is because people like to abuse that power and use it to their advantage.

 @9K9R4ZS from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

everyone in this country has some privilege weather they know it or not, in some areas it is colored-privilege in others its white.

 @9KCWWJN from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I don't know besides being taught the general basics of how to sign up for college and jobs would be nice

 @9KCM6SN from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Because when other people say racism then some automatically think of african american segregation and how white people caused this. Very much so is this linked and had spread across america. White priveledge is the ability for white people to have more biased opportunities than other races.

 @9KBGV6C from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Because they usually refuse to accept that it actually exists in today's age, and they want to make it seem that the people that say there is white privilege are just being dramatic about things.

 @9K9HV52 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

People who have grown up in a predominantly white community are less likely to be open-minded about those around them and they would likely feel superior.

 @9K9KDBM from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

i mean white privilege to me now feels kinda like the same as everything else we have the same power and everything as others but people compare it to years ago and when it was different. But as of today's world i don't see a difference between men or woman or even races.
