I find it interesting hearing different languages to remain in touch with roots and the comfortability to share diversity of languages in public. I wish I knew more to understand or to feel included as well if I'm apart of the conversation but I do not mind.

 @9HV5BXM from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I dont really mind hearing other people speak other language besides English because I also speak another language beside English outside.

 @9HW2M8Y from South Carolina  agreed…1yr1Y

i actually love hearing people speak in other languages, i think it sounds great and sometimes i be thinking about learning to speak them.

 @9HW26FTDemocrat from Wisconsin  disagreed…1yr1Y

I don't mind hearing other people speak other languages, but I don't speak other languages besides English.

 @9HTPXXV from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I don't feel any type of way when I hear languages I don't understand. I feel this way because there is no need for me to feel an emotion when hearing others simply speaking.

 @9HXKLQM from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

im not bothered by it, there are times when i hear it and im left confused. especially when they talk and laugh afterwards, but theyre not hurting anyone and it doesnt bother me for more than 5 minutes. i think it doesnt bother me because i was raised with many people speaking a lot of different languages around me to the point where you just learn to accept it and just think about how cool it is to know that language.

 @9J2BWVR from Ohio  agreed…1yr1Y

Other people being able to speak another language is cool, trying to learn another language myself the rules are complex yet fascinating.

 @9HZGSBWNatural Law from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I feel lost by not knowing what they’re talking about. However it really doesn’t make me have any ill feelings towards them unless behavior is shown that may support the language used.

 @9HTQTRM from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I think nothing about it because it isn't my languages if I cant understand it

 @9HTT2VW from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

Curious. Because it's language is interesting and shapes how we express our thoughts and beliefs

 @9K346RLRepublican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I don't really feel much when I hear another language. Other languages are pretty interesting to hear.

 @9K68NN9  from Wisconsin  agreed…1yr1Y

The more languages you know the more knowledge you know within your own native language too. You are able to communicate and understand others around you better.

 @9K4M36DIndependent from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I don't really mind when I hear someone speaking another language, other than the fact I can't understand them.

 @9KD8F4H from Ohio  agreed…1yr1Y

I completely understand that someone might be talking about something personal to them in a different language. Sometimes it can make me feel a little uncomfortable if they glance back at me or something like that because then I might interpret that they are talking about me specifically. Though then again even if they are talking about me it might not be necessarily bad so I try not to think about it that much because it is much more comfortable for someone to talk in their native first language than it is for them to try to talk about something in their second language just to make me feel more comfortable. I also really believe as someone that takes foreign languages that they are so beautiful and I have no problem if someone is speaking in other language around me other than the fact that I may not understand what they're saying.

 @9JVM7SR from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

i’m not bothered by it as long as there is someway to translate what is being said and if said person is making an effort in communicating

 @9JWPFN9Peace and Freedom from Vermont  agreed…1yr1Y

If their conversation doesn't involve you, then you don't need to think about what other people are saying. Also, America does not have a national language so people can speak whatever they want with the freedoms of the first amendment.

 @9LFBX6T from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I would feel fine. America doesn't have an official language so anybody can speak whatever language they want.

 @9LFHXFB from Florida  agreed…1yr1Y

It’s a country founded by immigrants and diversity of language makes this country unique and special

 @9RJPPZG from Washington  answered…9mos9MO

I don’t feel anything. Maybe annoyed that I can’t understand them. But it’s not wrong to speak another language.

 @9RHNVDMRepublican  from Washington  answered…9mos9MO

I feel curious what language they are speaking. I hear music in languages so I find them beautiful and I feel bad when I don’t know how to speak to someone in their language

 @9QYRB9F from Washington  answered…10mos10MO

I do not personally care if there are a diverse group of people in this country. I support loosening immigration because that's what this country was for. If there's people around me speaking a wide array of different languages, id feel like my country did its job for once.

 @9QX3SQ8  from Washington  answered…10mos10MO

 @9QQQKRS from Washington  answered…10mos10MO

I think "ooh! I wonder what that language is? That's an interesting phoneme profile." and I think it's because I have a linguistics background.

 @9P7NDTV from Washington  answered…11mos11MO

Its a bad felling but I think that is just my fear that they are talking behind my back.

 @9K7MKKW  from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I feel strongly disgusted that our immigrants have not assimilated into American society.

 @9K4GX2RRepublican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I just mind my own business and let the people go on with their conversations.

 @9LLHN5D from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

 @9K7RKD5  from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I don't have a strong 'emotion' per se, as I am typically quick to find a way to solve the language barrier if I am speaking to someone who doesn't speak the same language with me. If this is the question, then I say I'm eager to solve the conundrum, I find myself to be nothing if not stubborn to solve problems. However, if it's just two+ people in public or school that are speaking a different language and having a conversation then I find it to be none of my business that they are doing so; perhaps a bit of curiosity about what they're talking about, but otherwise I go along my day. My feelings at the moment are my own and I find any sort of offense to the matter foolish.

 @9K7JX52 from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

Annoyed that I don’t have a live translation headset and sad that I can’t learn more languages faster

 @9K6TRWXProgressive from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I just feel intrigued. I wish I understood what they were saying, but it’s so difficult to learn other languages; especially with the American public high school system. I know in the future it’s going to be a struggle when working and having a customer, client, etc. that doesn’t speak English and I’m going to feel bad.

 @9K4DX4W from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I feel indifferent, even though the native language in the United States is English, people are allowed to communicate in whatever language they want especially because of how diverse this country is.

 @9K3LTLDRepublican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

 @9JZ56X6 from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I think it's great that you are proud of your culture, I think I feel this way because I love speaking my native language too.

 @9JZ2PV4Peace and Freedom from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

Not that hard of a question, i don't think much of anything either than the fact that I can't understand them.

 @9JYYSVL from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

The first thing I do when I hear a language I don't understand is try to figure out what language it is, and if I can, maybe do a little translating using my Latin-roots. I think I do this because I'm fascinated by other cultures and languages.

 @9JV78G8Independent from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I find it quite fascinating and admirable. This is a country of immigrants and no where else in the world can you engage with so many cultures in your own neighborhood and share human connections with such a diverse spectrum of people. It is the melting pot of this spectrum that if handled with curiosity and humility that will allow America to continue to grow and progress.

 @9LKP7DC from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

When I hear different languages I don't understand, some intrigue me and others don't, like for example French, Romanian, and Italian languages fascinate me because I like the way they sound, especially Italian that sounds similar to Spanish.

 @9K4V6HQRepublican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I feel curious and interested on where they're from. I feel that way because I'm not familiar with any other languages.

 @9JZVHSX from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

 @9JZ3T9N from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I feel envious that I do not speak the language because I think it would be incredible to speak more languages.

 @9JWNBJW from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

When I hear languages I don't understand, I mind my business because if someone is bothered about someone speaking a different language around them they should go learn that language. I feel curious on what they are saying but immediately forget because I have my own life to be worried about.

 @9JVTGSJRepublican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I really don't care about hearing foreign languages. In fact some languages fascinated me, especially if it sounds like one I've never heard before.

 @9LLZN7X from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I think it’s cool how diverse our country is but people need to be in our country legally.

 @9K6DZWR  from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

Languages interest me a lot considering I speak both English and Arabic, so I don’t mind other people speaking their own languages. Languages make us humans smarter and more intelligent, so it shouldn’t matter whether or whether not someone is speaking any other language besides English. Even though it would be best for non-English speaking immigrants speak and understand English by learning it, I don’t think it’s a huge deal to anyone.

 @9K4MVZFRepublican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I feel confused, but that's because I can't understand them. If I could understand them through technology or learning the language myself, I feel like I'd be able to feel more comfortable, even confident when I communicate with them.

 @9K44D74Green from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I feel curious and amazed when I hear languages I don't understand, it shows how much of the world we don't know.

 @9JXCD2F from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

If I hear a language I don't understand then I guess I don't understand it unless it is spoken to me or is some form of public announcement, I'm, probably not meant to be listening anyway and could probably classify as eavesdropping.

 @9K9SRFS from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

Sometimes it can be frustrating, because you want to be able to communicate with everyone, I feel like schools should be required to teach English and Spanish in school.

 @9K4XQ2H from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I usually don't think much of it. I usually think "oh cool" and go about my day.

I think minorities should have the same rights once becoming citizens because they are also human just speaking a different way.

 @9K3HG7GRepublican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

i feel like it makes me and them very seperate becuase of that language barrier

 @9JV4P29Republican from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I am indifferent; each person has their own background and has the Constitutional right to speak in their first language even if it's not English. If it seems like they are talking about me, it can be frustrating to not understand what they're saying, but aside from this, its important everyone can speak freely or have opinions without being judged.

I feel just like any other person would. That feeling for me would be confusion but sometimes there is wonder and joy when I hear other languages because it helps me know that we are that country that brings people from all over the world to help them grow. I see many families today with different spoken languages and it makes me feel a fuzzy feelings knowing that they also let their children grow. C

 @9K3HQM5 from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I try my best to understand it, if it comes to Spanish, I might actually have some understanding of what their saying.
