In terms of carbon footprint, which is the primary environmental challenge that humanity faces today, these alternatives are not cleaner than Nuclear Energy. In fact, many of them may have a larger total carbon footprint than nuclear energy.

We need nuclear energy to diversify our power production and to increase clean energy production and drive costs down.
