Making rape and incest victims relive their trauma through pregnancy is just pure cruelty. Even when that isn't the situation, pregnancy is incredibly difficult on one's body, no one should be forced to go through it if they are unwilling (coming from someone who has had three successful pregnancies)

I do agree with this comment about abortion because I believe everyone has a right to control their own bodies/lives.

Humans own their bodies, period. They are the only ones to make choices regarding their bodies, not the government.
@9FDZ6421yr1Y
Agree. To say that only extreme cases are allowed to abort is picking-and-choosing, and insensitive.
I also 100% agree to this. Rape and incest victims should not have to relive their trauma just because other people want them to give birth. You have to think about the mental toll that would take on women.
I can't entirely agree. I agree that rape and incest victims shouldn't relive their trauma through pregnancy. It's horrible. Yet, the child is innocent. It goes against my religious and personal beliefs to kill an unborn baby. If the situation is too stressful for the soon-to-be mother, she can choose for herself if she wants to keep the baby or get an abortion.

A child has a right to live regardless of the circumstances of how that child came into the world. Two wrongs do not make a right.
@9FDQ37Y1yr1Y
You are literary taking a child's life off to abortion, and it is against the bible. You should never end up taking a child's life
@jsimicConstitution 1yr1Y
You shouldn't respond to trauma with murder. The child shouldn't suffer death because mother was a victim of tragedy. That's like responding to your wallet being stolen by blowing up the bank.
Why is the correct response to tragedy to terminate the life of a third party?
I completely agree that no person should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term. It's a taxing and life changing process that can lead to many physical and mental issues. It's cruel not only to the mother to force her to have a baby and change her entire lifestyle and body, but also to the baby who will most likely come into an emotionally absent or difficult childhood if they were an unwanted pregnancy.

I agree and raising children is extremely difficult. Both the parent(s) and child's lives can be majorly impacted, depending on circumstances.
@9FFFQ691yr1Y
I agree with this comment. Many women and children were molested and maybe did not have the power to fight back, which caused them to have to go through 9 months of a pregnancy they did not ask for. I think abortion should be legal and should be wether the person wants an abortion or not. No one else should have a say on it.
@9FFF2TF1yr1Y
It is a constitutional right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and access to abortions can ensure those rights at times. There are times when an abortion is the only chance that a mother could survive, there are other situations where the child would have been born into unfavorable circumstances for them or the parents, and so many other possibilities. Rape, abuse, and incest are all traumatic events that can lead to one becoming pregnant and a constant reminder of what occurred to be detrimental to the parents or child. Before 25 weeks, the fetus could barely be seen as "living" anyways.
@9FFDTQG1yr1Y
i feel as though people who go through rape trauma should be aloowed to have an abortion because having a child might indeed mean the person might see that rapist in the child, and child abuse might happen within or it could be the total opposite in my opinion what if the victim just leaves the baby on the streets or puts in foster care thats a lot of trauma on one..
@9FFC5Y91yr1Y
I agree that people shouldn't be forced to endure a forced pregnancy that they potentially don't want is cruel.
@9FFBWBP1yr1Y
I do agree with this statement it should be a woman's choice to choose what happens with her body, nobody else has to live in the trauma that she does of having a child.
@9FFB8M41yr1Y
I agree with this person I think abortions should be up to the mother I think taking away to medical abortions will make people attempt to carry out non medical abortions potentially harming themselves. Some people just simply dont have the means to have a child.
@9FF962NProgressive1yr1Y
I do agree. You should not be forced to have a baby that you cannot have, or that was in anyway forced in that kind of way. its wrong, and gross that people even have that thought.
@9FF5ZSN1yr1Y
I would agree since rape and incest are messed up situations. Not to mention, this could include young girls who are able to get pregnant. It's not fair to let those girls and women to go through that.
@9FF557X1yr1Y
I think it should be up to the women because if shes not ready or a terrible incident had happened she should have the right to choose weather or not to have a child.
@9FFY3CK1yr1Y
people should have their own choice regarding their body and if they want to carry a whole human and bring it into this world no matter the circumstance.
