What might be the social and ethical implications of replacing competitive exams with collaborative projects in schools?

 @9JDG3QQProgressive from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

It would be better and there will be a higher rate of hardworking students and more socialism in class

 @9JFY8T5Libertarian from Michigan  disagreed…1yr1Y

Tale as old as time. One or two kids will ending up doing all the work. Exams should only be a competition against yourself.

 @9L5N8X2 from Texas  commented…1yr1Y

That may be true early on, but group projects being the norm will disincentivize the behavior over time. Nobody likes a freeloader who chooses to be that way.

 @9JFY227Republican from Tennessee  agreed…1yr1Y

Rather than having standard tests, having students work together would teach better social skills and show students that more minds working together can achieve greater things. It can also show students where their weaknesses and strengths lie and what kind of person they can work well with.

 @9JK5749Democrat from Maryland  agreed…1yr1Y

This will allow kids to see the benefit in working hard as well as getting more practice in working with others.

 @9JDFJLXPeace and Freedom from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Maybe it will be better for the students to do projects but at the same time i think the exams are necessary

 @9JFF38RDemocratagreed…1yr1Y

Exams show you what you have learned and the projects allow you to build your understanding of the subject.

 @9JF9XTW from Texas  disagreed…1yr1Y

Collaborative work means one student does not have control of their results which can be unfair to high achieving students.

 @9JDFWGK from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Students will be more inclined to help eachother. When they see different ways and methods of learning and figuring out problems it can expand their skills.

 @9JF22K7 from West Virginia  agreed…1yr1Y

I thinl exams are not the way to judge a students "grade" because not everyone is a good test taker and there needs to be other options

 @9JDH84QRepublicananswered…1yr1Y

More will get done and it will be more useful to people rather than being to much to take in

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you feel about a job where your performance was evaluated on teamwork rather than individual accomplishment?

 @9KC2GQBIndependence from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

No one else's hard work should reward someone else. And nobody's slacking should take down another person. I would not like this job.

 @9KC2GTM from Connecticut  answered…1yr1Y

This does not work although teamwork is important, no one should be judged by it as there are always slackers

 @9KC26PTDemocrat from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Wouldn't like it all because it only takes on person to ruin it for everyone else. So, if the job is done well but an individual or certain individuals, everyone will be receiving credit when they don't deserve it or if one person messes up it is a reflect on the whole group.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

In what ways do you cooperate with others to achieve common goals, and how does that make you feel?

 @9HK8XHR from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that it's pretty important to cooperate with others to achieve common goals.

 @9HK8WS6 from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

I would say that it is important to cooperate and help others achieve their goals, and it makes me feel grateful and proud.

 @9HK98JBRepublican from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

As a member of a republic, it is vital for the will of the people to be represented. While I personally take leadership in many of my roles at school when I can, it comes from a place of servant leadership and co-operation, which, while similar in a way to the Owenism ideas, doesn't mean I fully reflect the idea of breaking with Lazzire-Faire.

 @9HK8T6L from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

What potential conflicts do you think might arise in a society based on complete transparency and sharing?

 @9HXY6YQ from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

There is no such thing as complete transparency and sharing. There is always going to be a group or individuals that are able to get around the system and steal from others.

 @9HXY9CMIndependent from Nebraska  answered…1yr1Y

I think that it could lead to more disagreements, because people will always disagree even if they are honest with each other.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How does working on a team project change your attitude compared to working on an individual assignment?

 @9L5H9DB from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

It takes more time to socialize with your members and you have to communicate and each participate ans there are some people that don't do any work and it becomes frustrated compared to individually and you can get it done quickly while trusting your work.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Describe a time when a group's encouragement helped you achieve something you might not have managed alone.

 @9KL5Q23 from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

How do you think relationships would change if mutual support was the societal norm instead of self-reliance?

 @9KC25C8answered…1yr1Y

there would be more group cooperation and help to one another rather than avoiding strangers and sticking to yourself.

 @9KC24LP from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

This question is irrelevant and impractical as it would require a complete societal switch in order to change the societal norm to mutual support. The US is an individualistic society, but this is suggesting that it becomes a collectivist society.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Describe a scenario in which shared responsibility could make a daunting task more manageable.
