What's a real-life example of overcoming a barrier that you've seen in your school or community, and what was the outcome?

 @9LDY6ZM from Pennsylvania  answered…8mos8MO

One real-life example of overcoming a barrier related to social reformism that I've seen in a school or community context is the implementation of inclusive policies and initiatives to support LGBTQ+ students.

In many schools and communities, LGBTQ+ students have historically faced discrimination, bullying, and exclusion, leading to negative mental health outcomes and academic challenges. However, in response to advocacy efforts by students, parents, educators, and community members, many schools and communities have taken steps to address these barriers and promote inclusion and acceptance. Am not supporting to them in other words but they should treated with positivity.

 @9LDXDLB from Illinois  answered…8mos8MO

social reformism is a liberal lie and bull **** stop being a victim and grow a pair

 @9LDXSNL from North Carolina  answered…8mos8MO

Kids always forgetting stuff in their lockers or using it as an excuse to leave class. The school banned lockers and kids have to carry their stuff around everywhere.

How has the current state of healthcare affected your views on social reform?

 @9J24FP5Democrat from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

It has made me realize that we need more free public health care as people cannot afford it.

 @9J2XKDPagreed…11mos11MO

You see a lot of kids and older people not getting the medicine they need because they cant afford it.

 @9J2W5KWDemocrat from Kentucky  disagreed…11mos11MO

It has not ruined the healthcare industry, if someone can't afford insurance the government could lower the price for those who are unable to afford it.

 @9J2H4PK  from Kansas  agreed…11mos11MO

Those who have insurance are scared to use it because it is not clear how much insurance will pay. Leaving the patient clueless and confused when the bill is larger than they expect. The premium you pay should go toward your deductible.

What do you consider to be the most significant barrier to higher education, and how should it be addressed?

 @9JHG6P9Libertarian from California  answered…11mos11MO

Class. The system is good but base student loans off major.

 @9JHRMF5 from Maryland  agreed…11mos11MO

I believe that student loans put students who may be less fortunate into debt they will be paying off for the rest of their lives and act as a disincentive to students.

 @9JHG4SZ from New Jersey  answered…11mos11MO

Cost. Also, trade schools should be promoted more as viable secondary education.

 @9JHG3QK  from Georgia  answered…11mos11MO

I don't believe that barriers to higher education need to be addressed. I think it would be better if we stopped pushing higher education in the traditional sense and return to teaching trades.

How would you feel if your future was determined by a lottery system instead of merit?

 @9J5R6KD from Michigan  answered…11mos11MO

I would hate that, lottery is pure luck and compared to everyone who plays hardly anyone wins I would hate for my life to be purely based on chances.

 @9J278KP  from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

I have. I grew up in south Berwyn Illinois, which is the better side compared to North Berwyn. Despite this, throughout my middle and Freshman-Sophomore high school career, I saw what the differences were between my life and others. My family has always been on the edge of middle class, I remember when my Dad lost his job and food began to be a problem for a year being the worst financial strain on my family. Then, when I moved out into Villa Park after a divorce, I went to the first ever school in my memory with a white majority. I also saw the blatant Injustices in both schools that I won't go too deep into, but reflects the inequity that has plagued this nation since it's birth.

 @9J253V2 from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

 @9HMSG6Q from California  answered…1yr1Y

People wouldn't create problems that don't exist. People would understand that things are as they are and its easier if you don't make things more difficult than they have to be.

What's one stereotype you wish could be changed, and how might that affect society?

 @9J25XB6 from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

People's definitive assessment and judgment of someone based solely on their appearance and stereotype associated with their appearance.

 @9J2533T from Connecticut  answered…11mos11MO

One example of stereotype threat comes from a study by Spencer, Steele, and Quinn. The researchers found that women did not perform as well as men on a math test, when they were told there was a difference in outcomes based on gender.

 @9K9KLKZ from Maryland  answered…10mos10MO

Social reform is a reshaping or reforming of culturally accepted laws and norms in light of new cultural paradigms that occur over time. Social reform can occur at local, regional, national, or global levels.

 @9J7SRXDLibertarian  from Arkansas  answered…11mos11MO

women suck, we need less women (i am a woman, a REAL woman btw not a fake *** tranny queer pedo)

 @9J7SJ6W from Oregon  answered…11mos11MO

I would receive more opportunities because I am a female, however I think this would lead to resentment between genders and is a form of discrimination violating the 14th Amendment.

How might your life be different if all genders were truly treated as equals?

 @9JKPG27 from Connecticut  answered…11mos11MO

 @9JKP84J from New York  answered…11mos11MO

I would have more opportunities and less hesitation to apply for/take certain opportunities. There wouldn't be a subconscious feeling of inferiority in comparison to white people. I wouldn't have to ask myself if I'd be able to do a certain thing the same way a white person would.

How could making public transportation better and more accessible transform your city or town?

 @9JHFX86 from California  answered…11mos11MO

Making public transport more accessible makes for a more safe environment. Having free transport means people can more easily get to work if they cannot yet afford a car. Also we need to make public transport more safe, especially for women who are constantly being harassed on public transport.
