You believe in promoting a society that values equality, justice, and diversity, while actively opposing oppressive and authoritarian ideologies.
Anti-fascism is a political ideology that is fundamentally opposed to the principles of fascism, a far-right ideology characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and the economy. Anti-fascism, as the name suggests, is a broad spectrum of movements, ideologies, and groups that resist and combat fascism.
The roots of anti-fascism can be traced back to the early 20th century, particularly in Europe, where fascist movements began to gain traction. The rise of Benito Mussolini in Italy and Adolf Hitler in Germany saw the emer…

Why do you think it’s significant to learn about and remember the consequences of authoritarian government in history classes?
@9JJPVBCRepublican1yr1Y
So that it doesn’t get repeated again, the government doesn’t do well under this idea.
@9JPTMP61yr1Y
soldiers worked really hard to gain our freedom there is no need to reverse it and cause us to lose that freedom people lost their lives over
@9JJQWD41yr1Y
Because the consequences are extremely important to use as a lesson to improve upon in the future..
@9JJQ2FTRepublican1yr1Y
It is important to learn from the past because those who do not are doomed to repeat it.
@9JJQH3D1yr1Y
so no one tires it again and so people understand the consequences of it
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What is a piece of advice you would offer to someone who wants to be an ally in the fight against oppressive regimes but doesn't know where to start?
@9KLX8QL1yr1Y
Start out by learning about the regime. Picket and protest against it. If you’re an able-bodied adult and care enough, consider fighting against that regime.
@9KLXDHL1yr1Y
Learn the history of those regimes and the circumstances under which they developed.
@9KLXQHXRepublican1yr1Y
Start in your local government. That’s where you can make a real change.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How would you respond to someone who says that taking a stand against oppression doesn't change anything?
@9KLL2FL1yr1Y
i would say that that statement is true up to a certain extent. BLM does nothing for the black community
Taking a stand can get your voice heard so you can help voice the issues and help fix them.
@9KLL45W1yr1Y
You can always make a positive change standing up for what you believe in.
@9KLKS3Y1yr1Y
I believe standing up to oppression does change something, but only if you have a large enough group to be influential.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What role do you think humor and satire play in challenging oppressive ideas, and can you think of an example?
@9JDFWGK1yr1Y
By making an idea seem humorous; you can make it seem smaller and less important than it is and give people less faith in it.
@9JDGGJD1yr1Y
Humor and satire can play a large role in showing how ridiculous some fascist ideals are. There are multiple videos on YouTube and other media-sharing websites where people play the role of parents in one case and when their child "comes out" as straight, there's an immediate disconnect between the parents and the child as well as anger.
@9JDG43M1yr1Y
Putin rules his own country and no body can change how he runs it
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
In what ways do you believe you can contribute to a society that's free from authoritarian rule?
@9H9842Z2yrs2Y
I believe that contributing to a society free from authoritarian rule starts with promoting democratic values and principles.
@9H97VD5Progressive2yrs2Y
do not restrict inalienable rights or self-expression
@9H97WT82yrs2Y
Where certain god given rights arent taken away from those regarding in the states
@9H986ZC2yrs2Y
Yes, by participating in voting, and other democracy acts.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Can you think of a time when you stood up against something you felt was wrong; how did that make you feel?
A time when I stood up against something I felt was wrong was when I heard in the news that a women couldn't get an abortion even though she needed to because her life was endanger however it was banned in the state for her to get an abortion regardless of her life being at risk. That made me feel upset and disappointed because the women's life is at risk and she could potentially lose her life if she was to give birth to an infant.
@9HJCW3W2yrs2Y
it felt good to defend my believes and try to show someone my point of view
Bringing awareness to the Genocide happening in Palestine made me feel sad yet powerful. Being able to outwardly speak and show people who ignore what is happening and make them look at it.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
What does the term 'anti-fascism' mean to you on a personal level and why?
@9H95FHF2yrs2Y
It doesn't mean anything to me because I simply dont care I am so young
@9CJ6CB61yr1Y
What better place to start when one is young? America as a whole has shirked politics when it is the very mechanism by which we can gain a better life. At the very least, we should educate ourselves and come to gain opinions.
In my eyes, anti-fascism is the fight against authoritarianism by all means. The evils that anti-fascism targets include racism, nationalism, religious theocracy, economic inequality, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination. On a lesser note, anti-fascism also targets imperialism and the capitalist divide, as, in the eyes of anti-fascism, these are tools for fascism to plant its roots in society.
@9H9BFS32yrs2Y
well here's the thing what's the point of having an anti-fascism, For one is that we see on tv on to CNN people talking about how we, Americans in country racism, and sexism others face throughout our daily live's, they show it all the time in cartoons, and even movies from the oldy's to the latest one's that family's show our kids these days, hearing it as well as watching to. so no we should not use anti-fascism
in every where we go schools to jobs.
@9CJ6CB61yr1Y
And yet, it doesn’t stop at the government level. We have a Republican candidate right now who’s a fascist: Donald J Trump.
@9H98XNB2yrs2Y
Anti-Fascism to me is not looking at it as an organization but as a social movement.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How do lessons from historical anti-fascist movements apply to today’s social and political climate?
@9HJC5GN2yrs2Y
In general these movements will continue to happen and fascism will evolve and while it effects the social and political climate today, fascism and a new anti fascism will still happen.
@9HJCT95Libertarian 2yrs2Y
Strong willed countries with the peoples support are able to change world politics for the better
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
What emotions do you experience when you think about the importance of fighting against oppressive ideologies?
@9H98SBYRepublican2yrs2Y
I think that some ideologies can be bad, but should only be dealt with if they do something that damages private property.
@9CJ6CB61yr1Y
corporatocracy encourages private property… for the rich, but doesn’t threaten it, yet it may be one of the worst systems out there.
@9H9D7SM2yrs2Y
The emotion I feel most is rage because, in this day and age, there should be no oppressors. When it comes to America it is quite embarrassing for us to oppress a minority when we fought against the oppression of the crown; it's hypocritical. But rage is not the only, nor the most important emotion. As a person who doesn't directly experience oppression, is important for people like me to raise the voices of those who do without being in the way.
@9CJ6CB61yr1Y
Rage fear, hope, and determination all in one, it’s overwhelming, but that emotion matches how important it is that ideologies like fascism never reach the halls of government.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
When have you felt most proud of your community for its actions towards inclusivity and respect?
@9HYV7LV1yr1Y
I think the way our community responded back was very polite and straightforward.
@9HYTZRY 1yr1Y
I have not encountered this in my community but my grandfather and some family members were assassinated by fascists. That should say it all. To emphasize: "Fascism should be eradicated"
Yes I believe I am Anti-Fascism
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Do you think it's important to take action against inequality and, if so, how far would you go?
@9HGQMTC2yrs2Y
yes i would do everything in my power to do anything i could help
@9HGQLCDWomen’s Equality2yrs2Y
yes i do think its important i would go as far as to boycotting.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
In what scenarios could 'the lesser of two evils' philosophy be dangerous when combatting extreme ideologies?
@9HJFK9MRepublican2yrs2Y
The lesser of two evils philosophy could be dangerous in a scenario where open freedom of expression and criticism is banned. When freedom of expression exists, open criticism can flow, allowing for issues to be pointed out and fixed, rather than ignored and supressed.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Why do you think it's important for people to unite against authoritarian beliefs?
Because Facism is one of the largest, if not the Largest evil in the modern evils, it hold us back as a society
@9HKCZBC2yrs2Y
An equal amount of government supervision and individual freedoms
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Do you think there is a difference between patriotism and nationalism, and if so, how?
@9HJDKMZ2yrs2Y
I think people should be able to be both free and equal. Why do we have to be so split apart? Human beings deserve to be treated with respect. We should all have the right to have free speech and be equal as a whole instead of being split apart and always at war with one another.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Why might some people find authoritarian ideologies appealing, and how can society address those underlying issues?
Fascism Definition, Characteristics & Examples - Video ...
The main idea of fascism is complete rule over a nation by a dictator
@9CJ6CB61yr1Y
Along with bringing the host country back to a glorious past that never existed at all. The fascist leader tends to claim to be the embodiment of the people, and speaks of the enemy being all those not on their side, and the “cultural elites” of the nation. Fascism is inherently a “strongman” based system, especially emphasizing masculinity and extreme xenophobic nationalism.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Why might it be important for someone your age to understand and perhaps support anti-fascist ideas?
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
What kind of resistance, if any, do you think is justified when combating extreme ideologies?
@9H9CHJQ2yrs2Y
Protests, petitions, and programs to help people be less extreme are justified when combating extreme ideologies.
@9H9BSWC2yrs2Y
christian they are basic a cult i know from experience, actually on second hand it is a cult they use you leaving to take all our support away your family do sent like you anymore and frinds dont ithre the ensure you cant leave.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How do you think understanding history helps us prevent future injustices?
@9K8LDKV1yr1Y
Yes, it does. It makes you see the things that occurred in the past that should not be repeated.
it will give you a better understanding of how it could start and ways to prevent it
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Can you share an instance where understanding a different point of view helped solve a conflict?
@9JF2N9K1yr1Y
I think anti fascism today is just a movement to target certain political canidates.
i believe different points of view can always open our eyes to what we can not see because someone else has gone through a different experience.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
When choosing your friends or partners, how important are their political beliefs regarding freedom and justice?
@9JCJD271yr1Y
I don’t choose my friends according to their political ideology.
@9JCHXJV1yr1Y
When choosing my friends or partners their political beliefs regarding freedom and justice their political views are quite important. If we are both constantly disagreeing with an opinion then we would not be compatible due to those heavy differences between.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How do you define freedom, and is absolute freedom possible or desirable?
@9HJF6372yrs2Y
i saw both if you want to be free then you need to earn it
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
What are the dangers of remaining silent in the face of oppressive ideologies?
@9HGQ3SK2yrs2Y
You gotta stand up for what you believe in no matter what.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How would you handle a situation where someone's rights were being violated in your presence?
@9KFK6XH1yr1Y
I would fight back depending on the severity of the violation. I would either argue that it's not that bad, but if they're being targeted and are going to be hit and hurt and I respect them, then I'm going to join in and fight against the oppressors. (Antifa people are just stupid, so I wouldn't support them, including other extremists)
@9KFK27Z1yr1Y
I would defend their rights if they didn't know them.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
In what ways can education play a role in preventing the spread of oppressive ideologies?
@9HNGSSZ2yrs2Y
Education mostly serves the opposite purpose - public education has for as long as it has existed served two purposes: preparing workers for industry, and indoctrinating thralls for the current government.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How does art and music contribute to the fight against authoritarian regimes?
@9HJDNC32yrs2Y
I think that art and music play a big role and fighting against authoritarian regimes they allow us to express the things that we cannot clearly state in normal mediums through art and music
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Do you think it's important to understand the perspective of those with whom you strongly disagree, and why?
@9HM78X6Republican2yrs2Y
Yes because unless they are tearing down fundamental American rights, such as the first and second amendment, they should not be disagreed with
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How can individuals contribute to a culture that opposes hatred and intolerance?
@9HPWDFQ2yrs2Y
Be racially color blind. As MLK once said, I have a dream, that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin. Today, we segregate people from the oppressed and the oppressors. Effectively losing the dream of MLK. All us as a people need to do is stop seeing color, and start seeing eachother.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How does standing up for justice and diversity reflect on your personality and values?
@9H8XTV62yrs2Y
its good people who stand up for themselves no one should be judging anyone for how they act or what they like
