Terrorist organizations are exempt from the right to a trial while not on U.S. soil (Guan. Bay), however the theory of enhanced interrorgation propagated by the Bush-Cheney administration has been shown to be a negative factor in public perception of the fight against terrorism as well as being shown as a ineffective interrorgation measure (internal CIA records show the failures of 'enchanced interrogation as well as the events of Abu-Gharib prov. prison).

 @B2Q9CDP from Oregon  answered…1mo1MO

All terrorism suspects should be investigated very carefully because they might be innocent in terrorism.

 @9XGSB8M from Oregon  answered…4mos4MO

They should have constitutional rights, if they know them. If they don't, educate them. They are in legal trouble here, not in their home country.

 @9TYL23H from Oregon  answered…6mos6MO

no, they are not U.s citizens so the constitution does not apply to them but they do have rights in their respective country.

 @9TQ3LLD from Oregon  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, just because people are not U.S. citizens, doesn't mean they are not human beings. Those suspected or charged with terrorists acts should be given a fair trial in federal courts.

 @9SFP4K6Republican from Oregon  answered…7mos7MO

they should have a fair trial just like every human should. but they should not shut down g bay for people found guilty

 @9RR8WF6Independent from Oregon  answered…8mos8MO

For acts of terror, they should be treated as foreign combatants but fir domestic crimes prosecuted in civilian courts with due process.

 @9RFMT4Y from Oregon  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, if you have evidence to prove they are terrorists and use deadly force against them, then you should do fine in a court of law.

 @9NQSR5Z from Oregon  answered…9mos9MO

Only if they are changed, not if they seem the same or seem off and be very weary and make sure they are watched.

 @9LSS57N from Oregon  answered…11mos11MO

Yes, but if they have without a doubt planned to or have committed a terrorist act then they gave up their rights and deserve what they get.

 @9KPX69Z from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

If they're proven to have no connection to the terrorism act and they're fully proven innocent then there is no reason to withhold that right for something if they did do then thats a good reason to not give them the right

 @9KHWZPV from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

they should never be granted constitutional rights because all those people are good for are killing other people they can care less about you

 @9KCX87K from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

absolutely not because they are liberal sissy's because they're trying to take away my place of freedom

 @9K9NWVL from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

Depends on the proof found and if they confess to crimes or not but overall if they don't identify as American than it depends on what they want

 @9K8RGZM from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

I think the answer "Yes, just like U.S. citizens, terrorists should be given a fair trial in federal courts" is the most human thing to do, because even tho most of the terrorists actions are inhuman and disgusting some of them are still human people and deserve to know whats going to be happening to them. (In some aspects)

 @9K54S9L from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

No, they’re not US citizens so they don’t have constitutional rights, but they should have human rights. There should be a document created nationally for human rights that every human has in every country..

 @9JPNYPP from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

depending on the need for and the severity of the information more convincing tactics should be permitted

 @9JGPHRD from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

People, no matter how terrible, should be treated humanely. If someone is proven to be a terrorist by fair trial, end them. Don't torture them, don't treat them inhumanely. End them quickly and purposefully. Same with rapists and murderers, young and old. End them now. Don't make the public pay for them to live.

 @9JCXW3P from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

If they stoped being a terrorist and changed then yes. If there still part of a terroirs and causes harm then no.

 @9J7SJ6W from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

I personally think that a fair trial takes too long while prosecuting a terrorist. I think there needs to be some balance between constitutional rights and justice for terrorists.

 @9HMGC4K from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

If they are going to be tried in the United States they should but if anywhere else that's accompanied by the U.S. than no.

 @9H89MJH from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

Terrorist if foreign should be shot as execution, domestic terrorists on the other hand should hang for treason

 @9GHPTL6Independent from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

Allow spokespersons for understanding and communication. After discussing and understanding reasons, fair trial should be given.

 @9FKBDVC from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

No, but they should have the right and not tortured if they are just suspects

 @9F45SX2 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

Even though they are not U.S. Citizens and don't have constitutional rights, they do have human rights, and those rights should be applied to all humans.

 @9F2P4J6 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

No, if they are suspected of terrorism but should at least be tried and maybe be subjected to other enhanced interrogation techniques as a last resort

 @9DYSNX8 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

“Terrorist” has no objective definition. It can only be defined by the (or lack thereof) values of those defining the term. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.

If the government would just be honest and use the term “enemy of the state/status quo”, we’d get somewhere.

Now do I think someone the government deems to be ontologically evil should be given rights? Well on one hand I believe humans inherently have divinity no matter what. But on the other hand I understand why a government would want to get rid of its enemies. I can definite…  Read more

It depends on their background info, what kind of person they are now etc. But generally I believe they should, unless there is clear evidence that they really are a terrorist. Everyone deserves a chance

 @96H9KM9 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

If undeniable proof is presented pre trial, then there shouldn't be a trial.

 @96DC7B6 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

They should be treated a fair trail, but charged a way that accounts to what they have done.

 @965N93C from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

They need a fair trial, and a right to jury and are innocent until proven guilty. No torture or inhumane imprisonment as they are human beings except if they are evil to the point like sex offenders and hitler.

 @965GTZZ from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

They should be given a fair trial, then, based on the results, be sent to be dealt with in their native country.

 @95VH4D3 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

The non-citizen suspects should not have constitutional rights, but keep human rights while tried

 @95V4DL8 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

They should be given some constitutional rights given that they are not U.S. citizens but people nonetheless and should be given a fair trial. Just because they are considered suspects, it does not automatically make them guilty. Lastly, if a U.S. terrorist has the opportunity to all their rights regardless of the fact that they themselves broke the constitution, why then should foreign terrorists be limited to such rights as well? I would like to know more about this topic.

 @95RVC9MProgressive from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

If it can be proved they were combatants, try by military tribunal, if that can’t be proved, try with civilian constitutional rights

 @95RSJWX from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

 @95R3K24 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

The US should do what is right, they may not be citizens but they are humans. They should be given rights that conform to Christian morals

 @95QM7N2 from Oregon  answered…2yrs2Y

They should be given constitutional rights until proven guilty of terrorism

 @933DW9S from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

if they do crimes aginsted our country they should be in tried and sentenced by our courts

 @92ZF333Libertarian from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

They should be given basic human rights and legal rights as allowed by inernational law.

 @92WTPNL from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

No, they are not US citizens and do not have constitutional rights, but should still be required to be given a fair trial

 @92CRCZY from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

They should be given the same rights they would be given in their home country, unless their country is deemed unfit to provide those rights.

 @8ZYL6LY from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

Suspects should be given constitutional rights, confirmed terrorists shouldn't.

 @8Z6LGZX from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't believe they should have all constitutional rights a U.S citizen has but they should not be treated inhumanely.

 @8YCK8J3 from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

if you show that you cant respect our countries constitution you shouldn't be given our constitutional rights

 @8YC5MHW from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8RXB5H2Independent from Oregon  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PMVYTS from Oregon  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PC2FK5 from Oregon  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PBVNW6Republican from Oregon  answered…4yrs4Y
