In your view, can individual freedoms go too far, and where would you draw the line?

 @9HBVLMVRepublican from Michigan  answered…2yrs2Y

Individual freedoms can only go too far if the person uses them to harm or exploit others.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington  commented…11mos11MO

 @9HBV7ZF from Washington  answered…2yrs2Y

i think that individual freedoms can go too far and the line is where it starts to affect other people physically. If someone is being harassed sexually or because of their gender or their race its a different problem

 @9HBWBKF from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

Individual freedoms are incredibly important. I would draw the line at terrorism that is actively acted out.

 @9HB3Y62 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes Individual freedoms can go too far, I would draw the line to where I believe is enough.

What responsibilities do you believe you have to your community and how do they impact your personal choices?

 @9KFNLPJ from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

Communities need to work together to bring about necessary change without violence. My job is to understand my community and it's needs and do my part to bring about the change that we may need.

Is there a balance between upholding traditions and embracing change that you think society should aim for?

 @9H7QKF2 from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

While there is value in tradition, the world is always changing. As the world changes the view on older traditions should evolve with the world.

 @9H7PNW2 from South Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, I think that obviously as this society advances there are somethings we need to take into consideration however there is value in tradition.

 @9H7JYFLRepublican from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Society should change as the people and priorities of society change. As far as tradition goes, I believe it is less important in view of the government.

Do you think the education you’re receiving adequately prepares you to participate in and shape the future economy?

 @9L9CV44 from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

I think that there are some things that we as students need to learn before we leave school and become adults but they don't teach.

 @9LCHRCS from Oregon  agreed…1yr1Y

Education on subjects like taxes and future-building programs like for retirement and financial saving strategies should be expanded.

 @9L9D6L5Republican from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No. The things we learn in school do not equate to the problems i would face in real life.

 @9L9DS86Democrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

No. School is a vessel for the training of the mind in academic studies. School does, however, forgo the important messages and social awareness that is necessary to uphold a functioning society.

 @9L377HZPopulist from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Personal Freedom to me means being able to go about and having my rights respected and of course respecting the rights of those around me, and for me that's really all personal freedom means.

 @9L36N2CWomen’s Equality from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

How would society be impacted if everyone prioritized their own interests over communal needs?

 @9KCVRVW from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

It would be chaos. People would most likely be unwilling to help/lend help to others or even give to causes that don’t have benefits for their own personal goal.

 @9KKHY4W from Maryland  disagreed…1yr1Y

If everyone prioritized their own needs, they wouldn't care on what their neighbors would be doing, so It doesn't matter in the slightest.

 @9KCVDS3Progressive from California  answered…1yr1Y

 @9KCVBJ4 from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

Society would become worse, as no one would put time, energy, or money into it. This would mean things in the community would become outdated and irrelevant, so things have to be replaced to make community better

In what ways do your friends and family impact your views on government involvement in daily life?

 @9KFXCVBLibertarian  from Oklahoma  answered…1yr1Y

well we dont acsept same sex marrige but we don't care for gays or lesbians but the trans are a abomination to the bible and to us but other than that if they keep to there selves we will to.

 @9KFYY8H from California  answered…1yr1Y

I don't do a lot of my own research on government affairs, so a lot of my opinions are based off of what people around me think. Many people around me think differently from each other. I choose the viewpoint I most agree with.

 @9KFX5WKDemocrat from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I see where they're coming from and I think my parents are reasonable so it makes me agree with them more.

 @9KFXFLF from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Not very. I tend to prefer to do my own research from multiple authenticated sources to prevent creating an echo chamber of ideas and opinions.

 @9K948RL from Arkansas  answered…1yr1Y

 @9K93GGB from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

No because you cna go to both. But for smaller local buisnesses they rely on local buisness to stay open when global brands dont.

How does your cultural background influence your views on individualism and collectivism?

 @9J5R6KD from Michigan  answered…1yr1Y

I think that when people belong to a group they feel more comfortable surrounded by people of their own and can end up in difficult situations when they are in an outside race of people.

 @9J5QVQN from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

I highly disagree with right-wing ideologies as the entire MO of these groups tends to be " **** you, I've got mine!" In the US, the right wing are just openly Neo-Nazis advocating genocide at this point. My cultural background of being Jewish may play into my views as I don't want to die, but, to be honest, I think I stand a greater chance of being murdered for being trans than for being Jewish.

If you could decide, what is one government regulation you would eliminate, and what would you hope to achieve by removing it?

I would choose to remove regulations on the economy and let things go more smoothly.

 @9J27G4QPeace and Freedom from California  disagreed…1yr1Y

I disagree because then life would be too easy and that wouldn't be fair with all the people that went thru it from the past years and decades. We want equality so what's a little regulation and following rules.

What role do you think national culture should play in the globalized world we live in?

 @9HGBQGR from Tennessee  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe national pride is someone everyone here should have a little bit of because we are freer than other countries but I do not believe life should revolve around it like some right-wing folks I know.

 @9HGC2C2 from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

I think everyone's say should be equal, doesn't matter what national culture they identify with.

 @9HGBS54Socialist  from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

I think natural progression of topic should be key to continuing to strive for rights for all people.

 @9HGC54V  from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

I don't think national culture should play any role in the globalized world we live in. I think this because we shouldn't be looking at someones skin color or culture we should look at their intelligence not their looks.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Imagine a government with minimal interference in daily lives; what benefits or challenges do you foresee?

 @9HGFC8J from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

I think some of the benefits are going to be less government control, BUT I do see a lack of someone in charge does make people more unstable and there is enough going on to show it isn't a good idea.

 @9HGFBYF from Nevada  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that a major challenge with Right-wing ideology is that it prevents social acceptance changes and causes a "rich get richer" economic struggle

The murder of George Floyd and the people stood up and held the police accountable for the his murder.

How does the concept of 'natural law and order' influence your perception of justice and societal norms?

 @9H7KBK8 from Georgia  answered…2yrs2Y

The concept of natural law and order has no place in a justice system, a social structure, or an economic structure. While people are born with inalienable rights, may people are born with disabilities and taking an "everyone for themselves" approach to a society is reckless and often leaves the majority of disabled people struggling in a society that has the ability to, but will not, accommodate their needs.

 @9H7KC6D from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

In my opinion 'natural law and order' comes with common sense, which many people lack these days. I believe having in ground rules and laws as we do now, with a working justice system is exactly fine, and exactly what we need.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

When faced with a tough choice, how do you balance your personal freedom with the potential impact on others?

 @9HCVJSZWrite-In from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

This balance comes from implementing economic and societal changes from the bottom up, not the top down. Blanket federal legislation on policies like healthcare and taxes are generally ineffective on everyday life, if not outright malignant. Increased participation in local and state governments is more likely to bring about compromise and progress than finger-pointing over whatever bill came out of Washington this year.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Can you give an example of when less government involvement actually made a process or system better?

 @9HGF4C4 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Protesting, by influencing violence to a peaceful crowd it can cause more havoc and more rile out of the people, let them peacefully do as they please and it stays peaceful, simple.

 @9HGDY5FRepublican from Iowa  answered…2yrs2Y

Healthcare systems would be able to give more personalized plans without the need for things like Obamacare.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do you think your life would be different if the government played an even smaller role than it does now?

 @9HGF5WPRepublicananswered…2yrs2Y

I think that it would be beneficial because we would be able to live life without the constant rules of government.

 @9HGF2XT from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that if the government was less overbearing in some areas, and more overbearing in others then the US would do significantly better.

Why might someone argue that excessive government control can lead to a loss of personal freedoms?

 @9H4TNWD from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

It would take more money from people's paychecks, theoretically giving them less money to use on thing sthey want.

 @9H4S7PFProgressive from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

They probably think that increased government control can limit things they can do or violate there rights, which is fairly understandable but it all depends on the issue at hand.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What role should tradition play in modern society, and can it coexist with progress?

 @9H4KM38from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

Tradition should be used as a tool to give people integrity, a sence of belonging and ideintity, to guide them, and a tool to unite them, and give them strenght and hope in hard times. Nevertheless, progress is just as important, and the two MUST coexist in order to achieve the best outcome.
