Trump announced the proposal as part of a plan to combat the opioid epidemic which is claiming the lives of more than 100 people a day in the U.S. In 1988 the federal government passed a drug law which imposed the death penalty on drug “kingpins” who commit murder in the course of their business. Analysts estimate that this law has resulted in only a few executions. 32 countries impose the death penalty for drug smuggling. Seven of these countries (China, Indone…

I think it depends on the severity of drug sold, the death of a customer, and the organized nature of the ring selling it
@9KWD3FL1yr1Y
It depends. If it's marijuana and no one died in the process of trafficking, then no. If it's for actually harmful drugs, and someone has died, then yes. If no one has died as a result of their actions, then a maximum of 5 years is appropriate. Some of these people do this because they need money, and it's unfair to them that they have to do something because the system that's supposed to care for them failed them.

It is not my place to judge somebody. Only God can judge.

If they're just peddling marijuana and drugs of the sort, it should be a short sentence, community service, or house arrest for not selling and/or transporting it legally. But, if they're also convicted of human trafficking, then they should serve significant prison time.
Yes, but only if they they are given a fair trial and convicted of other violent death-penalty-worthy crimes in the process of drug trafficking.
@8TPHVMY4yrs4Y
No not if they are not violent, if not violent this should not be a crime, drugs should be legal
If we can’t have physician assisted suicide, then we shouldn’t have a death penalty.
@8KPFH9JIndependent4yrs4Y
It depends on what drug they are distributing.
@8FPZTWDIndependent5yrs5Y
Yes, if the drug trafficker purposely gave them lethal drugs. If not, that is manslaughter and they should be sentenced according to those laws.
@8F44XVL5yrs5Y
Yes, depending on the high and aggravated amount.
@8CN4G6G5yrs5Y
no, drug traffickers should not receive the death penalty you don’t know what the reason they’re doing the trafficking is. maybe they were forced to do it or some do it to provide for their families others were forced.
@8C9C36VRepublican5yrs5Y
No, The punishment dosen't fit the crime.
Yes, but only if they they are given a fair trial and convicted of other death-penalty-worthy crimes in the process of drug trafficking.
@9BHBYS72yrs2Y
Only for those who sell to minors/children. All drugs should be decriminalized and taxed/regulated just like alcohol and tobacco. You cannot legislate morality.
@97V3KJS2yrs2Y
I only support the death penalty for convicted murderers, rapists, and pedophiles.
