I think it is disrespectful to those those who fought for this country and are fighting for this country right now

 @9FF84MWPeace and Freedom from Indiana  agreed…2yrs2Y

Burning the flag is more than making a statement. It is the utter disrespect and disregard to those who have fought to raise that flag. When you burn the American flag, it shows that you only want to make a statement because there are so many other things you could do to show dissatisfaction. Burning the flag disgraces the whole country, not just what ever political statement you argue over.

 @9FD6DJJRepublican from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

it symbolizes the country that we all live in, whether or not its run the way you want it to doesn't give you the right to destroy the symbol of the country you live in

 @9F4SZM8 from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If you do not care about your country and its pride, there are plenty of people who will. Go live in another country and see how you like it.

 @9GVBJ67 from Indiana  agreed…2yrs2Y

It's saying about how if you don't care about your country, then leave it and go to another country you love more and America.

 @9GX8VWT from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The flag represents the deaths of the men and women that served to give you the freedom to be an idiot and disrespect their sacrifice. If you burn the flag you are saying “yes you died for me to be able to act the way I am, and have my freedoms, but screw you I’m going to do what I want because I’m immature.”

 @9GS2CWX from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Hundreds of both men and women died fighting for that flag, so treat it worth the respect it deserves.

 @9GGRRMB from West Virginia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

people should not burn the american flag because people fought and died so you could live in peace and have freedom people died protecting america and that flag so you should not be allowed to burn it that would be disrespectful to all the people who died so you could have freedom

 @9FMJ6M9Republican from Missouri  disagreed…2yrs2Y

No burnig the flag is wrong. It should ever burn the flag. If you don't like the Country you live in, then leave. Burning our flag and stomping on it is a terrible thing. It should never be allowed. People died to protect the country you live in todayit symbolizes the country that we all live in, whether or not its run the way you want it to doesn't give you the right to destroy the symbol of the country you live in.

 @9GT6CYP from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The flag represents the men and women who fought to give this country it's freedom. If you have the decency to burn the flag, you definitely have the decency to leave this country if you dislike it so much.

 @9FRLH27 from Wisconsin  disagreed…2yrs2Y

 @9FBR43S from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

There are many people who have fought and died for that flag. That flag represents blood, sweat, tears that many have shed for that flag. It would be a dishonor to those who have fought to burn the flag.

 @9F9NYZV from Washington  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Our founding fathers created that symbol you call a piece of cloth to unite against an unjust ruler so you can sit at home and watch whatever or go to church on Sundays

 @9G3CYS9Republican from Missouri  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It is not simply just a piece of cloth. It represents all of what this country has fought for throughout several decades. This flag represents freedom. . If one were to burn this flag, it would be the largest form of disrespect and brutality towards our country. Men and women fight and have fought for centuries for us to be able to live a free life. It is a symbol of our democracy, our freedom, and our patriotism.

 @9G9XX2L from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It is not just a piece of cloth it's a piece of cloth me serve and fight for. We have always fought for it and it means everything to us. It's not just a flag it's a symbol of who we are.

 @9FX32YK from Indiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Why would you burn the thing that so many young men and women fought to protect how many lives where lost so you can live in peace.

 @9G3TTR2 from New York  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The men who fought for this country have sacrificed so much just for a single person who does not care all too much to just throw away what they gave us. The freedom, the power, the joy, etc.

 @9GFNXS2 from North Dakota  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think it is rude. Because the people that fought for our country are honored by the flag and burning it is just really disrespectful to everyone that served and our country.

 @9GKF5VYRepublican from Tennessee  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The flag is a symbol of our country, that I am proud to be apart of. They are basically spitting on those who have fought for our country.

 @9FW5RYF from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

it is a peice piece of cloth that reprezents you and your country and if you burn it you turn your back on the country

 @9GQPTKW from Virginia  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It represents every single person who lay dead or wounded fighting for this country and keeping us safe. It is NOT just a piece of cloth.

 @9GQKGGV from Indiana  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Its more than just cloth, its all of the troops that have died for our country, all the people who risk their lives every day and all the people who sacrifice themselves every day.

 @9GSZF4Z from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It stands for much more noble things than just the country itself, such as its beginnings and those who have died to protected the country, and burning it is disrespectful to them.

 @9GYQJ9S from Minnesota  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The flag represents our country, and if you want to burn it you should be deported from the country, I dont care if you were born here, or where you get sent to, but you shouldn't be allowed to be here anymore.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

So you are against freedom of speech and freedom of protest? Sounds like you are the unAmerican one here...

 @9GBMNRGdisagreed…2yrs2Y

A flag is not just a simple flag, is a symbol of a country's pride and how it was created, how we, the united states, gained independence from britain, The flag is a symbol of freedom and bravery

 @9G43LXM from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It is the american flag. People fought for this country for years so we have what he have now. They created that flag as a symbol. if you dont like this country enough to burn the flag than why are you here. that is disrepectful.

 @9GCY2G5disagreed…2yrs2Y

It is just not a piece of cloth. That flag represents all of the men and woman who have served this country.

 @9GZQ465 from New York  disagreed…2yrs2Y

It symbolizes the freedom that we work to maintain and that the military fights to protect every day. If they truly believe it's just a piece of cloth, they shouldn't mind people burning pride flags and black lives matter flags.

  @VulcanMan6  from Kansas  commented…2yrs2Y

You are free to burn those too I guess, but you're probably still just homophobic/racist anyway, which is bad.

 @9FCTPHD from California  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The Flag represents freedom to the world and if you don't respect that then you don't know what it means to be an American.

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…2yrs2Y

To many it’s a symbol of colonialism, and America has long soiled its reputation in front of the world. America stands for its own freedom in the majority of conflicts, while it does often side with the right side, we have a long history of messing with other nations for our own gain.

 @9G7ZJDS from Michigan  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Many people have served our country and the flag is a symbol of respect to our country and our military so It deserves respect.

 @9G2N2LBdisagreed…2yrs2Y

 @B2ZY6JSRepublican from Kansas  disagreed…5mos5MO

 @B2XJMSC from Wisconsin  disagreed…5mos5MO

It's our country's flag why would you want to burn it. The flag represents everything great about out country including our freedom.

 @PatrioticBeaver from Texas  disagreed…7mos7MO

Throughout human history countries, cultures, creeds, and religions have used symbols as a physical representation of their beliefs and values. Symbols are the social glue that humans can stand behind. They have been used to represent beliefs that people put above themselves, sacrificed for, and in many cases give their lives for. Every group like this recognizes those that have sacrificed for these beliefs and associate them with the symbol or flag. That is why, for example, we have a flag code. You are not respecting the colored cloth, you are respecting what that cloth represents and what many people have given their lives for. Burning the flag is as disrespectful as going to national cemeteries and spitting on the graves of fallen soldiers.

 @9QZMPFR from California  disagreed…12mos12MO

State-owned enterprises also represent the spirit of the country, and if the flag can be burned at will, it means that the person has spurned everything that his or her country is proud of and it is also a sign of disrespect.

 @9QWMV9V from Wisconsin  disagreed…12mos12MO

It represents our country and everything it’s been through, as well as the men and women that fought for the freedom this country gives us.

 @9MYMTY3 from Wisconsin  disagreed…1yr1Y

Dumbest thing I ever heard. for every fiber on that flag there are souls that have been taken from us, family members who served the ultimate sacrifice to our country. If you burn the flag, you should be immediately deported and lose your US citizenship.

 @9M9TDG3Independent from Idaho  disagreed…1yr1Y

You shouldn’t destroy something for our country, it is disrespectful and shows you don’t respect our country.

 @9LZ8JBDRepublican from New York  disagreed…1yr1Y

 @9LZK2Q7Republican from Connecticut  disagreed…1yr1Y

It is what represents our country and if you burn that, it is like burning down your home and values because that flag is the representation of the United States of America.

 @9F838CPRepublican from North Carolina  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Your wrong and don't respect the rights that you have and you should be sent away to another country to see how good you really have it.

It is a piece of cloth that represents our freedom and what was done to fight for that freedom and should be respected

  @9CJ6CB6 from Virginia  commented…2yrs2Y

Then burning a pride flag, which represents the acknowledgement and equality of a large group of people, should also be against the law?

 @9FTP3ZWIndependent  from New York  disagreed…2yrs2Y

well theres people fighting out for our country so it would be disrespectful to to put it up after you dropped it.

 @9G9GJY2  from Pennsylvania  disagreed…2yrs2Y

1000s of people risk their lives to cross that border (which I think should stoped) just to see that “useless piece of cloth” flying instead of El Salvador’s flag.

 @9GJFKSP from Maryland  disagreed…2yrs2Y

you should be able to burn the lbgtq flag because it has no purpose but the American flag stands for freedom and liberty and if it weren't for the sacrifice of soldiers they wouldn't be able to stand for their bull crap and they think they own America they are just a rodent that manged to get under the protection of the government because they play the victim.
