Should the US assassinate suspected terrorists in foreign countries?
The United States began using drones to conduct targeted killings in the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. President George W. Bush authorized dozens of drone strikes against terrorism suspects , and President Barack Obama continued this practice and actually expanded the use of drones. Drones use continued under President Trump and President Biden. Drones were used in areas of war, such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya and also against terrorist suspects found in countries such as Pakistan, Somalia and Libya.

@8L48TLC5yrs5Y
only if they are actual terrorists
@B4RH5CK3wks3W
Confirmed terrorists. "Suspected" opens up a whole new can of worms for them to take out anyone that they see as a problem & label them as a terrorist. Evidence needed.
@9XMZHMB6mos6MO
Only if there is undeniable evidence and there is no other way to stop an attack. If they can be captured they should be given a fair trial.
@9X8F7B56mos6MO
No, stop pissing off other countries, & restrict military activity to defensive actions at/in our own borders.
@9SCGPH79mos9MO
if they have proof they are a terrorist then yes but if not and they just have a bad feeling about them no.
@9R8JY7F10mos10MO
“Suspected” is a dangerous word. If we KNOW that they are terrorists, then yes. But we must be sure.
@9G8JFG82yrs2Y
Again, starting a War isn't something we should simply jump to right away. If a threat is real, take tactical, knowledgeable action. Assassinating Evil will only bring more Evil.
@9F2XBJV2yrs2Y
Yes, but only if Congress has authorized use of military force in that foreign country.
@9DCWXG92yrs2Y
Should ask the country to if it refuses then do it yourself
@9BP53K3Libertarian2yrs2Y
Yes as long as there is undeniable evidence that they are a threat to our country
@972RFVT3yrs3Y
I think it depends on the person and the evidence giving.
@96GK43L3yrs3Y
Only when there is no collateral damage.
Yes, but only if there is irrefutable evidence they have or plan to attack our country or its allies, and even then, only with the cooperation of the local government of the foreign country.
@964B46Q3yrs3Y
Yes, only when there is undeniable evidence and collateral damage is minimal.
@95ZFWP33yrs3Y
No. At this point only let the U.N. decide that. If they want our help, fund the action.
@94B5CSQ3yrs3Y
Yes, but only if they bring harm to other groups and the U.S or there is evidence of it
@934B9XW3yrs3Y
no because thats racist!!!
@8ZQBRPG3yrs3Y
It doesn't really matter to me.
@8Z5DD353yrs3Y
Yes, but only if there is undeniable evidence showing that they are planning on attacking our country or other countries
@8Z4L7MC3yrs3Y
No, but if it comes down to it we should be prepared to.
@8YWHRRH3yrs3Y
Under certain circumstances, if innocent civilians are put at risk.
@8YV6BK53yrs3Y
Yes, but only if there is undeniable evidence they have committed an attack against our country or have hints of possible attack.
@8YSL33M3yrs3Y
They should ask questions about why they did it or can end up killing them.
@8YPBP4L3yrs3Y
only if they are confident, have hard evidence to prove he is an assassin then it'll be alright.
@8YB35L33yrs3Y
Yes, but there must be evidence that the will commit terrorism to any country.
@8X2LYY2Independent4yrs4Y
Yes but only if all the evidence 100% supports their claims
@8WRLPFW4yrs4Y
Yes, only if there is undeniable evidence that they committed an attack against our country or going to commit an attack.
@8VY7BZW4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if there is undeniable evidence that they have committed an attack or are either planning to attack our country.
@8VWZDYR4yrs4Y
We should not involve ourselves with people that are half a world away.
@8TJMCSN4yrs4Y
Only if they are in the country or are coming to the country
@8TBNF3N4yrs4Y
AS long as we get the permission of the government of the country in question before launching the strike, I don't have an issue with it.
@8T8HCJX4yrs4Y
yes but only if there is undeniable evidence that they have committed an attack against our country and or they are planning to attack our country
@8SQ35WP4yrs4Y
If there is evidence that they have or are planning to attack us, assassinate them, but if not, capture, interrogate and imprison them
@8S8BPJT4yrs4Y
If they step foot into us soil kill them and continue surveillance
@8RYJJCL4yrs4Y
No, capture, interrogate, and give them a fair trial.
@8QTGRPJ4yrs4Y
Only if the there is undeniable evidence they are both planning, and able to commit the attack, and the US works with the country the terorrist is sheltering in.
@8QR7BS54yrs4Y
we should only assasinate if there is undeniable evidence that they have attacked the country, but if they are planing an attack they should be interogated and dealt with calmly without killing them.
@8Q9RWRV4yrs4Y
They should be able to as long as they have done an attack against the U.S. But I think there are other ways to deal with suspected terrorists.
@2JZLXT54yrs4Y
Not without a congressional declaration of war.
@8NW2Z2T4yrs4Y
Yes, but we need to take care of our demestic terrorists first
@8NRF6TV5yrs5Y
Yes, but only if there is undeniable evidence that they are a threat to our country and to our allies, as well as what they use to assassinate and if innocents will lose their lives.
@8NMZ3BKIndependent5yrs5Y
Once undeniable evidence has been found they should be given a fair trail, and once convicted they should be put down humanely
@8NLZVHXWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
yes, if there is evidence that they have or will attack our country they should be killed.
No, instead we should watch and what and if they are in contact with terrorist then capture and imprison them and interrogate
@8MX9JYQ5yrs5Y
Yes but only if there is undeniable evidence of an an attack on any country.
@8MPPD6R5yrs5Y
Yes, but only if its 100% necessary
@8M7H79G5yrs5Y
I need to do research on this
Yes, but only if no innocent citizens are endangered.
@8M3CM4G5yrs5Y
Terrorist attacks against the US civilians or Military is an act of war. War rules apply. Military forces should have the right to confront a threat of terror. When the situation is no longer a threat military stand down. If trials for War crimes against our military or civilians become necessary then a fair trial should take place.
@8LK2W495yrs5Y
All measures to capture but assignation is permissible
@8L8SSY95yrs5Y
No, if there is undeniable evidence they are planning an attack on our country, we should bring them in and make sure no one else they are affiliated with will carry out their plan.
@8L7NKZ55yrs5Y
Absolutely not because all this stuff ruins are reputation as a good and free continent we are making are selves look horrible by making stupid choices like BOMBING Korea. Like do we just have to make things so much worse! Any way, no i do not think we should assassinate at all.
@8L4ZJD9Libertarian5yrs5Y
I think that it depends on the crimes committed and the evidence we have to prove their crimes but in some instances I think that there really is no other way but if it can be handled better I think it should.
@8L4STKG5yrs5Y
It matters what has happened and what they did
@8L4SN3N5yrs5Y
No but we should tale there government
@8L4Q2DN5yrs5Y
Yes but only if they are about to harm our troops.
@8KDCJLJ5yrs5Y
Yes. Only with irrefutable evidence of that they have attacked or planning attacks on the United States and other Allies.
@8K72HQW5yrs5Y
Loaded question. Depends.
@8JHVD4G5yrs5Y
no, that will only cause war, that's using terrorism agenst terrorists
@8JGF3FPIndependent5yrs5Y
I feel like people should be given trail. But we are at the point that fair trial wont work because the people are so rich they can get out of it. So i strongly believe we shouldnt kill them but we should take care of them in ways so they do get a punishment.
@8J754C2Republican5yrs5Y
Yes, however, this is dependent on the feasibility and necessity of such an attempt.
@8GYKN8K5yrs5Y
Not enough information on the topic
@8G946NS5yrs5Y
No, they should be captured and given a fair trial unless they are an immediate threat
@8FTYDDT5yrs5Y
thats murder so no dont be ignorrant
@8FJB3Z2Constitution5yrs5Y
Yes, only if there is evidence beyond reasonable doubt that they plan to or have committed an attack on American soil or civilians.
@8F7P4FVRepublican5yrs5Y
Catch them, interrogate them, then kill them.
@8DQXPX85yrs5Y
Yes, but only if there is clear evidence of past terrorist action or clear evidence that they are planning future terrorist acts.
@8DPPCGN5yrs5Y
Yes, if the government has concrete evidence that they are going to attack our country or already has.
@8DKBYQG5yrs5Y
Yes, if we have the permission from the other country beforehand.
@8DGC4LL5yrs5Y
This one is tough. Yes and no. One could argue that if they are dead they can no longer cause problems, but there will always be someone to replace them.
It could potentially just make things worse. Much like the Hydra of Greek mythology, chop off one head and two take its place.
@8D8V5CH5yrs5Y
If there is proof that this person has caused a terrorist act in the USA or plan too or plan to attack any country.
@8D4F4CS5yrs5Y
Capture, in target, and imprison them as a priority. If no option is available and undeniable evidence for a planned attack against our country is presented, then assassination attempt will be considered
@8CG65VZ5yrs5Y
Yes, if they pose a credible threat to any ally
@8C95YV7Constitution5yrs5Y
no suspected but actual terrorist
@9CP5NP22yrs2Y
Work closer with the foreign governments to have them apprehend or assassinate said terrorist. But we don't need to except in time of war, with that host nation.
@9BBBKPY2yrs2Y
Only as a last resort to crimes committed against multiple countries and its own countrymen
@9B3HSWN2yrs2Y
Yes and no because it could get the other people mad
@99PVH27Republican2yrs2Y
If we know for a fact, that they have, or will attack our country...then actions must be taken to protect our country and people.
@992H9222yrs2Y
Yes, but only as a last resort if there is undeniable evidence that they are planning or have committed an attack against our country
@97M3XSJRepublican2yrs2Y
It depends on what they have done.
@97JVX9ZLibertarian2yrs2Y
No, they should be captured if possible.
@96Z4FLF3yrs3Y
Yes, but only during times of war if there is undeniable evidence of past or future attacks against our country and our allies.
@96YNBZ83yrs3Y
if it is for sure going to affect us then yes
@96QLX3QIndependent3yrs3Y
I'm kinda neutral here in this frightening boys game of war
@8Z4L5Y93yrs3Y
Only engage if their is undeniable evidence that they cannot be reprimanded by the country's own authorities, and that there is undeniable evidence that they are going to attack our country.
@8W73WZ74yrs4Y
It depends on how much incriminating evidence they have against them, and before making a choice to take out them out, unless the circumstance is dangerous or something, they should capture and interrogate first
@8QVH4KY4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if there is undeniable evidence they are planning to attack our country or that they already have, carrying the potential to inflict even more harm to the U.S.
@8NM828BWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
It depends, if they are planning and already done so to attack our country then yes they should be exiled or at least be put on a fair trial resulting in jail.
@8MKV6S2Constitution5yrs5Y
If there is evidence to back up the claim and if they have already tried another way then yes it is okay. I think we should first try to be more civilized then the terrorists we are accusing.
@8L7JJGG5yrs5Y
Depends on if there is actually evidence it was them and what they did
@8L78HN65yrs5Y
its called america for a reason so hell no
@8FPBH45Republican5yrs5Y
Yes, but only if they prove to be a threat against well-being of our or another country.
@8DSD2SNLibertarian5yrs5Y
I think its important to look out for other countries, but going as far as killing a terrorist could maybe put a target on our back.
@8D7CFYT5yrs5Y
I believe every situation would be different. There is not a good answer here for every situation
@8XGV4423yrs3Y
Yes, if they are planning to harm our country or out people and or if they already have
