State Question 776 adds a new section to the Oklahoma Constriction which states that methods of execution can be changed. It states that the death penalty is not cruel and unusual punishment. Proponents argue that any form of execution that is legal in the U.S. should be legal in Oklahoma (including lethal injections). Opponents argue that lethal injections should be banned after the state botched the execution of an inmate in 2015.
