I do not believe it is the governments responsibility to ensure the safety of a single individual, unless it is someone such as a high ranking government official such as the president. This is why we have the second amendment, to protect ourselves, individually.

I think it's a top priority. However for example giving iran 8 billion dollars was a huge mistake, they took advantage of us, and now our country is in great danger
