It is called opinion, and abortion is never an option, if you wanna take your child's life then why you just make the baby be alive and put it in adoption easy. but never take a human being's life.

While I respect your viewpoint, I'd like to point out that the issue of abortion is multifaceted. For instance, in cases where the mother's life is at risk, or the fetus has severe abnormalities, the decision to abort can be seen as a medical necessity. Moreover, adoption is not always a viable solution. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, there are about 443,000 children in foster care in the US on any given day, indicating problems with the current system. What could be done to improve this situation, in your view?

yes i agree, people should be able to make their own medical choices as long as they are mentally able

 @D3b4t3AlexandraAmerican Solidarityfrom Wisconsin  disagreed…2yrs2Y

While it is important to respect individual autonomy in medical decisions, an unrestricted approach could potentially lead to misuse or decisions that harm the individual in question. For instance, consider the situation where someone with a severe mental illness decides to forgo necessary medication because they believe they are better off without it. Their decision may be based on their personal beliefs, but it could lead to serious harm or even a crisis situation.

How would you propose we balance individual freedom with the potential risks to the person or society? Can you think of a system that ensures personal freedom while also protecting individuals and society from potential harm?

yes, agree, I do with my body what I want, they do as well, They shouldn't be able to stop me from having surgery, so why should I stop them.

The act of abortion should be up to the person who is getting said abortion. Nobody else. It isn't their body. It isn't their abortion. They have no say so on whether or not someone gets an abortion.

The baby is not part of the woman's body. If it were, then why doesn't she have 2 heads 4 arms and 4 legs

 @9FDTSFL from Texas  agreed…2yrs2Y

Agreed. A baby’s personhood can be debated, but a person’s right to autonomy over their own body cannot.

 @9X44PM2Republican from Wisconsin  disagreed…9mos9MO

When is it determined that a baby has value? Either it does or doesn't. It doesn't have value simply because it's an inconvenience to the woman.

 @9FFFQ69 from Texas  agreed…2yrs2Y

Its true. Only the person's thoughts and wants should count. Its a person's body, which they should have complete control of.

 @9FFJ5G8Progressive from Pennsylvania  agreed…2yrs2Y

I agree. No one's body autonomy should be in the hands of someone else. There are so many devastating circumstances where abortion is very helpful and a necessity for some people. Abortion is a human right and should not be interfered with by someone who hasn't ever gone through something like that or is unable to reproduce.

 @9X44PM2Republican from Wisconsin  commented…9mos9MO

If a mother left her newborn baby in a garbage can, would you consider that a medical necessity as well that everyone should ignore and leave up to her?

Abortion isn't a medical practice. Medical practice is just another euphemism for abortion.

Where do we draw the line at terminating a life because it's an inconvenience? Why does the baby's location determine if it has value or not?

 @9FFFGSW from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If abortion is right then stealing is right. If you abort your mistake then you should've not made that mistake its on you nobody else.

 @9FF3YBKSocialist from Indiana  agreed…2yrs2Y

Agree with the message not the wording, i believe in autonomy as long as no one, besides thoes consenting, are harmed

 @9FDZYWYLibertarian from New York  agreed…2yrs2Y

This is pretty much saying someone shouldn't have the control of another persons body and I completely agree

 @9FDZ4RDWomen’s Equality from Ohio  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think women who get sexual assaulted and like rape should be able to have the right to have an abortion but people who get accidentally pregnant should have the baby

 @9FDYXTZ from GU  agreed…2yrs2Y

this is true, but the other citizen could potentially save the life of the citizen with the medical actions.

 @9FDYSTP from Virginia  agreed…2yrs2Y

I think that it's not our business because there could be detrimental reason why the women is getting the abortion.

 @9FDTX5D from California  agreed…2yrs2Y

I disagree with this comment because another citizen should have the right to interfere with the medical practices and actions of another citizen if it means providing help for their health. Abortion is essential to those that are not ready to have a baby or don't think they can handle going through pregnancy. There are women who have been raped and because of that, they had to get an abortion due to the fact they got pregnant. Getting pregnant was not their choice and they wouldn't have to get an abortion if they weren't raped. Abortions are also especially important to low-in…  Read more
