Should individuals have the unrestricted right to own any type of firearm?

 @9H5BZ95answered…2yrs2Y

I think there should be certain laws on that, there should definitely be restrictions but I don't think they should be banned.

 @9H5CT3X from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that "Gun Rights" are a privilege and there should be adequate training, psychological evaluation and renewal of permits every year for any and all gun owners.

 @9H5C768 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe every individual who owns different types of firearms should have some restricted gun laws

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How does the freedom to own a gun make you feel safer or more vulnerable in society?

 @9H5FFFM from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

It could be used for protection purposes but at the same time it could also make things more dangerous if they get into the hands of the wrong people or people that aren’t mentally stable enough to own a gun.

 @9H5G3J9 from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

Owning a gun grants personal protection by our 2nd Amendment rights. In times of danger, you won't need to worry about waiting for emergency services to arrive if you are able to take care of yourself.

 @9H5DQX5Republicananswered…2yrs2Y

safer because you can easily protect yourself and everyone will have the equal amount of protection

 @9H5FYY2 from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

It is good and more safer because so much people owns guns and the percentage of people that use it bad is like less than one.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If you had to explain why gun rights are important to a friend from another country with strict gun laws, what would you say?

 @9J73SMP from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Gun's cannot be banned because if they were we'd be helpless while criminals can illegally steal weapons and know that we would not be able to protect ourselves.

 @9J73XPW from California  answered…1yr1Y

I believe gun rights shouldn’t be strict because so many people have them it would be bad if your didn’t

 @9J73WBG from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

Read the US Constitution. The second ammendmant is very clear. the state of our country at this point, with our corrupt administration, we need these rights. We will be defending ourselves from our government in the very near future.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What measures can people take to ensure guns are used safely and responsibly?

 @9HHYJCD from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Getting training, secure storage, secure ammunition, avoid alcohol, avoid drugs, and you can report stolen or lost firearms. This can help lessen risks with firearm ownership and use.

 @9HH2ZKBRepublican  from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

People can unfortunately only control the way they choose to use guns. The best that gun sales people can do is mental health and background checks for criminal record to decide if a gun should be distributed.

 @9HH3FPY from California  answered…2yrs2Y

I believe that looking back at the criminal records and denying guns to people who have been shown to use guns unwisely is a good way to ensure guns are used safely and responsibly.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Imagine living in a world where firearm ownership is as common as owning a smartphone; what are your immediate thoughts or concerns?

 @9RKHVYY from Ohio  answered…11mos11MO

I think it is a terrible idea, and I think the country as a whole would suffer severely from it.

 @9J4SCGN from California  answered…1yr1Y

If people were all responsible with them they would be no issues but that would never be the case and having too many irresponsible with guns will cause more problems than solutions

 @9JXG45WRepublican from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

I would at least but a law out there to where they can only have a gun when they are hunting or in a serious situation.

 @9JX6V2D from Michigan  answered…1yr1Y

I would be terrified, because not everyone should have access or be able to carry a gun around and the more common it is the more issues it will cause.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Should there be a universal background check system for all gun purchases?

 @9HCRYNVRepublican from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HCRYM2Republican from California  answered…2yrs2Y

i think that if u have no criminal record you should have an easier time processing a gun

  @92VHLQ8Constitution from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No. it's a violation of the Fourth Amendment, and a backdoor to registration

 @9NFW89M from California  disagreed…1yr1Y

To purchase a weapon one should be willing to trade an aspect of their freedom to have the freedom of owning a weapon. Furthermore, not every person should have the right to own a weapon.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How has the history of your country or community shaped your views on the right to bear arms?

 @9HMLSG9 from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

Bad men and women will get guns however they desire. When you put heavier restrictions on the good people, you leave them defenseless.

 @9HMLYQC from Utah  answered…2yrs2Y

some small questions can sometimes show a big difference in people and their intentions.

 @9HMM2WL from Colorado  answered…2yrs2Y

I think the way guns are treated in this country doesn't give them enough weight

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you propose we balance the right to self-defense with the risks of accidents?

 @9HJ3VRSRepublican from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

We need to make sure that we understand who owns and buys gun legally. However it’s not the law abiding citizens that are committing crimes with legally purchased guns. Require gun qualifications in order to carry a gun or to own a gun for self defense in your home, training is so very important.

 @9HJ3NR5Progressiveanswered…2yrs2Y

Self-defense is only acceptable if the individual is subjected to being harmed/kill

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Should guns be more accessible to people for self-protection, and why or why not?

 @9HJ6D2P from Ohio  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel as if there should be more precautions surrounding guns, but if your specifically using it for safety you should be able to buy one.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How does the portrayal of guns in video games or movies impact your perception of gun ownership and its consequences?

 @9J4S6TR from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Freedom to make or sell whatever you so choose as long as it does not infringe on the rights of myself or others.

 @9J4RWVNIndependent from California  answered…1yr1Y

It doesn’t affect me whatsoever, video games with guns do not reflect responsible gun ownership whatsoever.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

In your opinion, what role do firearms play in shaping a nation's identity?

 @9HJQY96 from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If a new policy allowed you to carry a concealed weapon without a permit, how would this change your daily life, if at all?

 @9J4S8FK from California  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Considering advances in technology, should 'smart' guns with enhanced safety features be the new standard, and why or why not?

 @9J4SDKP from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

There should not be restrictions on guns, stick to the constitution. Guns don’t kill, people do. Get more mental health available and lower the prices of the mental medications so people can afford to take them.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you think the portrayal of firearms in media affects how society views the necessity of gun ownership, and if so, how?

 @9J4SCTYRepublican from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Media portrays weapon ownership as a sinful, a frowned upon act. But the instances shown on media do raise awareness on the importance of gun ownership, therefore portraying a mutual stance or depending on the individual in given society.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How might one's personal experiences with crime shape their opinion on the right to bear arms?

 @9HJQLGY from Washington  answered…2yrs2Y

They have a difference experience then I do, not being a victim of gun crimes.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

In what ways has the presence or absence of guns in your community impacted your sense of safety?

 @9HJ5R86 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

Made me feel safer but makes me mad that if someone protects other people by using a gun to shoot someone that go to jail even though they were protecting multiple people.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If self-defense is a right, in what ways can we reconcile this with the potential dangers that arise from mishandling firearms?

 @9J4RWVNIndependent from California  answered…1yr1Y

There should be stricter laws on how to purchase a gun so that one is properly trained and on how to handle a firearm, especially in a stressful situation - something similar to concealed carry training.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you feel if you needed to defend yourself but were prohibited from owning a weapon?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How might the mental health aspect play into your stance on the right to own guns?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What analogies or examples might help explain the importance of gun rights to someone unfamiliar with them?

 @9J74SHPPeace and Freedom  from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

Americans are sort of like housecats: utterly convinced of their independence, yet totally reliant on the systems around them. If you declaw a housecat, nothing in it's life will really change. It didn't have the need to fight anything, plus maybe fewer children will get scratched. The same goes for if you were to take gun rights from Americans.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Reflecting on historical revolutions or moments of resistance, what are your thoughts on the role of civilian arms ownership in achieving or preserving freedom?

 @9J6FJRL from California  answered…1yr1Y

Civilians have the right to own firearms and this right should not be taken away. It is the government's responisibility to deal with crimes committed by irresponsible parties and decide punishments, not to remove a constitutional right from all civilians for the prevention of crime that will be committed either way in one way or another.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do you distinguish between the need for self-defense and the responsibility to avoid escalating a situation with a firearm?

 @9HTMB9C from Minnesota  commented…2yrs2Y

A firearm should be used in response to a firearm, that way you are only responding in kind and not escalating.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Imagine if your school implemented a policy allowing teachers to carry firearms; do you feel this would make you more or less safe, and why?

 @9HTM9WR from North Carolina  commented…2yrs2Y

I feel that most students would feel unsafe plus, what if a student got that gun. What if the teacher snap, there's too many things that could go wrong.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

To what extent should personal liberty be compromised for the sake of broader public safety concerns?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do emotions like fear or empowerment influence an individual's stance on gun ownership?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If you could ask a lawmaker one question about gun control policies, what would it be?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you balance the right to personal protection with the potential risks of accidents and misuse?
