What steps would you take to preserve the cultural festivals and traditions of minorities in a society focused on one religion?

 @9JQ6LH6Democrat from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

Every minority group should be able to participate in any tradition they want to and should not be restricted from doing so.

 @9JQ92JC from Texas  disagreed…1yr1Y

Minor should be watched at all times because lately they have too much freedom which influences them horribly. I.E. Social media and finding ways to get drugs.

 @9L88VD3  from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

Hard to say. In my opinion it's best for people of similar culture and religion to live and work among each other and keep separate from others who differ drastically in those respects. Economic and political cooperation is fine and even necessary in some circumstances, but forcing people together just dilutes all cultures and you get people on all sides who are unhappy. We would be better off keeping among our own kind and letting others do the same, while also not interfering with or dominating the other groups.

It's up to them whether it stays up and alive. If you have a different culture then you should be responsible for celebrating it.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

If religion dictated the civil liberties in your country, how empowered would you feel to fight for your rights?

 @9KYCD3R from South Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

The way that we are currently running is messed up many ways but I agree with some that are in today. I really think that the border and foreign politics need to be revamped including with prison reforms and abortion reforms.

 @9KYC2M2answered…1yr1Y

That reaches into the regions of Theocracy, and Theocracy is never a good idea. While morals and societal foundations are a good thing, we do not need religion to establish it. Religion is often used as a form of manipulation.

 @9KYC3MJ from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Personally, depending on the religion being dictated, I would feel more motivated. However, that means that others who don't share my beliefs wouldn't want to.

 @9KYBTHLDemocrat from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you approach making healthcare decisions if all medical advice was filtered through religious doctrine?

 @9KZ4YS2 from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I would definitely agree with religion coming to intervene the healthcare system because there are values and morals that exist within religion that can help make reasonable and logical desicions.

 @9KYZ2G3 from Louisiana  answered…1yr1Y

 @9KYYZ3D from California  answered…1yr1Y

I would not do that because as a catholic, I believe in letting other do what they want without trying to force ideology on others as long as they do the same. So this can start arguments and hate crimes if this is ever enforced

 @9KYYWYG from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

It wouldn't be ideal in a country that is based off of religious freedom, coming from an avid christian.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you adapt if your favorite books or films were suddenly restricted due to their religious content?

 @9JDZSXM from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I don't think I would like that because I may enjoy those films or books, but I wouldn't expect them to be forced onto other people. As long as that's not happening, I don't think they should be restricted.

 @9JFBFRSagreed…1yr1Y

These restrictions also known as censoring is unconstitutional violating the first amendment rights.

 @9JF7Y5HWomen’s Equality from Oklahoma  agreed…1yr1Y

I don’t see how the constitution could claim to give of us freedom of religion, press, etc and go on to restrict certain things.

 @9JF26F5Democrat from Indiana  answered…1yr1Y

I would be very upset. I would be misrable if i could not read. i would probably just die.

 @9JF2255 from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

i wouldn’t be the happiest about this decision, which is why i don’t think one religion should lead a nation, and everyone should be free to any religion they choose to believe

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you expect your workplace or school environment to change under a government promoting a single religion?

 @9JDT76YRepublican from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

My environment should definitely be against this. Goes against the 1st amendment.

 @9JFDSWZdisagreed…1yr1Y

Every person should have the ability to choose their own religion, and the government shouldn't choose it for them.

 @9JDT8SV from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

i think that there would be a disagreement as to there are many different people with many different beliefs.

 @9JDT2XHDemocrat from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How might your social circle look different if religion shaped the laws governing who you can befriend or date?

 @9L7HT9J from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Religion is important to me and while the United States should strive to be a moral and upright country everyone has the right to practice, or not practice, whatever religion they wish. Religion while culturally important to the United States should only influence American politics in a limited way

 @9L7HQ9HSocialist from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

I am not a religious or spiritual person so for me to have a circle that would impact by decision would drastically change most of not all of my beliefs.

 @9L7HPTJ from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Religious nationalism should not exist and people should be free to make their own choices

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

What if public discussions and debates were framed by the predominant religion of your nation, would you feel comfortable speaking up?

 @9KFNG6CDemocratanswered…1yr1Y

I believe there is no place for religious nationalism in this country.

 @9KLRTP3 from Iowa  disagreed…1yr1Y

This is a predominantly religious and nationalistic country. It was practically built on those two in some shape or form but leaving those would just leave the US as another soulless husk of a country without an identity.

 @9KFNX9PRepublican from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I think that you should be allowed to believe whatever you want with nobody telling you whats right and whats wrong.

 @9KFP2QF from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you feel about your country's national anthem if it included references to a specific religion?

 @9J7CLPJ from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

it is still the national anthem if you don't like it i'll help you pack your bags

 @9J7CWWX from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

america is a land of free religion and you are allowed to believe in what you want.

 @9J7CPS5 from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

It would not bother me and I would not care about it. If religion was included it better be christianity.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

In what ways do you think religious nationalism could impact the everyday lives of people who don't follow the majority religion?

 @9H9JKJ5 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Is there is a set religion for the country as a whole that infringes on your rights you have an opinion and you should be able to believe what you want.

 @9H9JHCM from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it could make people more connected if they shared a love for the same country and religion, but people should still have a choice to follow different religions.

 @9H5XHTSRepublican from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

It could greatly impact them for the better, religious people tend to live moral and charitable lives.

 @9H5S2J6 from Minnesota  answered…2yrs2Y

Have the freedom to practice what you like, but also allow others the freedom not too.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

If the music concerts you attend were filtered through faith-based approval, how might your taste in music or support for artists change?

 @9KYC6QP from Louisiana  answered…1yr1Y

It wouldn't. I would like the artist no matter their belief or the filter on the concert

 @9KYC7H7 from Louisiana  answered…1yr1Y

My support for artists that support Religious Nationalism like this would decrease significantly, the government should never have the power to filter what can and cannot be shared as long as it doesn't put anyone in immediate danger.

 @9KYC6DTfrom Montana  answered…1yr1Y

some would stay like the country or rock but the heavy metal would have to stop

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How do you think dating and romance would be influenced by the social pressure associated with religious nationalism?

 @9KZ3Y85 from California  answered…1yr1Y

I don't think so since you should be with someone who wont care about what sort of religion your in, they should care about you and how you are rather than something like that

 @9KYD32R  from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I don't think religious nationalism should be included unless both partners agree on a mutual standpoint.

 @9KYCNS4 from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Can a state truly be democratic if it endorses religious nationalism?

 @9H843BG from Arkansas  answered…2yrs2Y

No religion should be prompted by the government nore put above others. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and no religion should be put down by others because it's not the "common" religion.

 @9H84VDL from Nebraska  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. Someone's religion or nationality should not at all affect politics. It is still very possible for democracy to flourish in this scenario.

 @9H844KX from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I do not believe it can be because if people are pushing a certain religion, then its not religious freedom.

 @9H8SBXXanswered…2yrs2Y

A state can still be democratic even though they believe in religious nationalism because religion may be linked to certain races but that does not mean that the person of said race is of that particular religion.

 @9HDZ8V8Republican from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

they would frown on the religions celebrating a holiday from a different religion

 @9HDYWQ7 from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

I don't think that a religious holiday should affect people that don't support that holiday. If you don't celebrate it then don't do it. It's your own choice.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Can a community maintain its diversity in a nation where religious nationalism is prevalent?

 @9HGYQ9MRepublican from New York  commented…2yrs2Y

If you couldn’t practice your hobbies due to religious reasons imposed by the state, what would that mean for you?

 @9HPNDLVIndependent from Nevada  answered…2yrs2Y

As someone who is not religious at all, I would be seriously upset if laws were imposed due to religion.

 @9HGYQ9MRepublican from New York  commented…2yrs2Y

I don’t have a religious practice, so this question does not apply to me, once people understand that religion was created by people in order to control them. Then we can start to build a world that we could finally live in without killing each other over a
non-existent deity.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you feel if your government decided to enforce policies based on a single religion's teachings?

 @9H4LHMJfrom Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

I think religion shouldn't affect the government because there are different religion with different beliefs and some might not be suitable for others.

 @9H4L8G5from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

I would move away instantly. Religion is the root cause of half of the world's problems. Religion should be abolished via education.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How could dating or friendships be different for you if your country adopted principles of religious nationalism?

 @9HPNH7YRepublican from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

The rules for dating would be completely different and people would not be as free to pick who they want to date.

What if public discourse, including news and debates, exclusively supported a specific religious perspective?

 @9KYC5TR from Louisiana  answered…1yr1Y

 @9KYC2B3Democrat  from Louisiana  answered…1yr1Y

It would be a violation of the First Amendment, as it imposes a religious bias to everyone who is viewing it which might not align with everyone.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

If public commemorations took on religious meanings unfamiliar to you, how would you engage with or challenge these changes?

 @9LBLLB8 from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

I would be confused, as to why they were publicized if they weren't common major religious beliefs between everyone. Although It is true there are religious beliefs spread widely among people in the U.S. Unfamiliar ones would bring confusion and thought most likely.

 @9LBL6GW from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

if the stances are held by the individual than that is encouraged but if they try to enforce that on the people than that is unconstitutional

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would your understanding of personal freedom change in a society emphasizing religious conformity?

 @9LBVJMKWomen’s Equality from Arizona  answered…1yr1Y

Religious freedom, or freedom of conscience, is critical to the health of a diverse society. It allows different faiths and beliefs to flourish. Religious freedom protects the rights of all groups and individuals, including the most vulnerable, whether religious or not.

 @9LBV5SH from Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you maintain your personal respect and understanding towards diverse religious beliefs in an environment of strong religious nationalism?

 @9JDZSS9 from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

I would try to get a understanding of the beliefs by joining in on there takes for a little to get and understanding and then I would make a choice

 @9JDZMBJ from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I respect any religion, I don't think it's anyone's place to say otherwise.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Do you think a nation's history should be reinterpreted to align with a single religious perspective?

 @9JDZXHP from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I dont think we should reinterpret history however going forward I do think it is important to give credit where it is due.

 @9JDZW6L from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

No, the U.S. Constitution and one of the fundamental ideas of the United States law is freedom of religion. This would directly violate that and push and discriminate against religious minorities even more than they are already.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

 @9KYB8B8 from Indiana  answered…1yr1Y

No, religion has no place in government for there are too many religions and they all disagree with either. That would create a government where the people would hate it and overthrow it
