You believe in promoting social justice, equality, and compassion through the teachings of Jesus Christ to create a more equitable and caring society.
Social Christianity is a political ideology that emerged in the 19th century as a response to the social problems associated with industrialization. It is rooted in the belief that Christianity has a social and political role to play in modern society. The ideology emphasizes the social teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly his concern for the poor and the marginalized, and seeks to apply these teachings to contemporary social, economic, and political issues.
The origins of Social Christianity can be traced back to the Industrial Revolution, a period of rapid industrial growth that…

What kind of impact do you think small, purposeful actions of kindness could make in your local area?
@9JRKB391yr1Y
Alot. We need more Christians in our Community/State/Country
@9JRL3WP1yr1Y
I believe that small purposeful actions can make a difference in so many ways. It can create a more caring and empathetic environment for everyone. People need to be aware that there are many people out there that care about them and are willing to help.
It would make a great impact. Everyone should deserve kindness and it would help everyone in a nice way.
@9JRK6FT1yr1Y
I think that it is alright to show your faith in public but it should be accepted for all religions.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How can the concept of 'loving your neighbor' shape the way we approach debates on social issues such as homelessness or healthcare?
@9HG2TVL2yrs2Y
Help assist them, not give them whatever they want
@9HG2SSB2yrs2Y
Extend an arm out to help rather than to destroy each other.
@9HG2TR72yrs2Y
The concept of 'loving your neighbor' can shape the way we approach debates on social issues such as homelessness or healthcare by making Christians more likely to give back.
Understanding different situations and searching for ways to help instead of punish.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What does 'being your brother’s or sister’s keeper' mean to you in the context of today's global challenges?
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
What does 'being a good Samaritan' look like in a modern context, and have you ever had such an encounter?
@9JRKHJC1yr1Y
I think in the modern world a good samaritan would look like cleaning up after yourself, donating if you can, and helping people who are in a tough position.
@9JRVT9F1yr1Y
Because there is no reason for us to trash our world and there is no reason for us to not help someone that is struggling because you could be in the same position one day
@9JRK8DBRepublican1yr1Y
Donating food and supplies to homeless, or even helping a buddy whos having a bad day can be examples of being a Good Samaritan.
@9JRKZ8S1yr1Y
if you ask me "being a good Samaritan" is someone who treats others in spite of their race and gender identity with kindness someone who doesn't look down on others simply because it is the right thing to do not, because they know that they will get something out of it. Kindness is paramount in this modern world, and we must understand that we will go nowhere unless we treat others with kindness.
I've had some encounters, I think being a good samaritan in modern context would be cleaning up after yourself, throwing away trash from the floor, paying for the person behind you, and of course, being kind to everyone you meet, regardless if they dont show kindness back.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
Why do you think some people are more motivated by religious teachings to engage in social activism than others?
@9JHXXJQ1yr1Y
because some people have an image they think that they need to uphold
People might engage in activism because of the injustices done to them or those that they have witnessed done to others, they may also engage in activism because they identify with particular struggles and social movements that align with how they relate themselves and their family to social and economic structures.
@9JHXY4P1yr1Y
because they believe in god and believe that they should follow the bible
@9JHYFWC1yr1Y
I think that the Christian religion likes to put their beliefs on everything they do and they believe that they are used by god as a vessel so they think god is speaking through them
@9JJ6ZCNIndependent 1yr1Y
The religious dedicate themselves to serving a diety. If they believe the actions they take on social issues are matters of rightciousness and piety then they will automatically be more motivated then those who arent. The religious see this as a sacred duty, the irreligious fundamentally cannot.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
In your experience, how can engaging with people from different backgrounds enrich your own beliefs and values?
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
When have you felt most connected to a larger community and what inspired that feeling?
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
How should the idea of 'respecting the dignity of every person' influence our laws and policies?
@9JRCPTJ1yr1Y
There should be little religion involved in the gov as it can make a government corrupt and non functioning a prime example is the Islamic Republic of Iran. But I do agree to there being core values that stem from religion involved in the government.
@9JRBZYG1yr1Y
Stop embarrassing and humiliating people when arresting them, no matter what they did.
@9JRBRDC1yr1Y
Stop embarrassing and humiliating people when arresting them, no matter what they did.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How would you apply the principle 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' to today's Internet culture?
@9HTTKR3Independence2yrs2Y
Treat others with the same level respect as you would like them to treat you
@9HTT482Independent2yrs2Y
I'd show that there are consequences to actions that have been done, like say; you help someone with a project they are working on, online and they pass it with flying colors, and then they help you with something equally important, that's a consequence, or if you severely bully someone and then when you're at your lowest they start laughing at you is an example of a consequence.
@9HTSZY72yrs2Y
Uhm it would not be applied because over the internet people could care less of others opinion
@9HTSYTW2yrs2Y
our country was founded on theBible and it should stay that way
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Is it possible to practice the inclusive love that Jesus preached in a society divided by political ideologies and religious beliefs?
@9H7KKT4Republican2yrs2Y
it is difficult but it is possible and it is not meant to be easy but in my opinion the lord can pick you up out of the worst
@9H7K46JIndependent2yrs2Y
Yes, people should be able to be inclusive of everyone for almost any reason
@9H7KLWC2yrs2Y
I do not think that it should exist because there are many other religions that should be represented and if only one religion does it all the others should be able to do it to without backlash.
@9H7KC6D2yrs2Y
No, it's really not possible in the modern day. Most Americans are caught up in anti-racism, political debates, protests, feminism, etc.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Does the idea of using Jesus's teachings to advocate for political change resonate with you, or should religion stay out of politics?
@9H3PDP52yrs2Y
No religion has nothing to do with politics and 9 times out of 10 someone is gonna use their religion to scare you into submission of doing something you don't want to do. Those are two different worlds, keep them separate.
@9H3PHJ32yrs2Y
Yes, religion should stay out because if people want to be a certain religion they can be and if they dpn't want to then don' make them.
@9H3PJS22yrs2Y
religion should stay away from [politics becuase there is no need for peoples personal beilefs to be included in laws.
@9H3PJXM2yrs2Y
No separation of church and state PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How do you feel about the notion of 'forgiving debts' both in a financial sense and in everyday relationships?
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How would you apply the Christian principle of 'the least of these' to modern day policies affecting marginalized communities?
@9H9HCY9 2yrs2Y
I am a religious person because religion is important to me however I would not force its teachings onto people.
@9H5MNDV2yrs2Y
It’s hard to say. I believe Christianity can be both good as believing in something and praying and putting it in a higher powers hand so things get better is good and should not be frowned upon. But using it to spread your hate for those you deem less than is horrid.
@9H5PLFD2yrs2Y
I am a strong believer in secular democratic principles. No religion should dominate law or government.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
What do you think about the idea that kindness and compassion could be more influential in politics than power and money?
I consider that money will always be a great influence in government decisions
@9HJHPLH2yrs2Y
Neither belong in politics - need to return power to the people, smaller big government and crimes punished and strong law enforcement
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Can personal faith translate into public action without alienating those of different beliefs or no religious beliefs at all?
@9H6LS6ZIndependent2yrs2Y
Separation of church and state with freedom of religion
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
How should Christians navigate the tension between upholding religious convictions and advocating for secular social change?
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
If promoting social justice is central to Christianity, how far should Christians go in fighting for equality in society?
@9H7S9F7Women’s Equality2yrs2Y
individual interpretations of Christian teachings guide their level of involvement in pursuing societal equality.
@9H7KSCB2yrs2Y
They should not have to power to put prejudice on people or put them as criminals.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Should the compassion and social teachings of Jesus be a guiding force in crafting today's government policies?
@9H84QTX2yrs2Y
I feel like no one should be force to learn about a religion but the people that want to know and learn should be able too.
@9H7KMHJIndependent2yrs2Y
No, because not everyone in the government and citizens have the same beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs, and it is unfair if people's governments are based off of just one belief. For Muslim people, having a Christian ran government won't be beneficial to them.
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
Do you believe Christian values can lead to meaningful change in areas like health care, education, and welfare, or is that expecting too much from a religious framework?
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
In a time where opinions are polarized, how can the teachings of patience and understanding inform your interactions?
@9J45LYR1yr1Y
In the face of polarization, drawing on the principles of Social Christianity to emphasize patience and understanding can encourage respectful discourse, allowing for diverse perspectives to be acknowledged and considered.
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
@ISIDEWITH1yr1Y
When has an act of kindness—big or small—touched your life and possibly altered your behavior towards others?
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
What lessons can we take from religious stories about leaders to improve our definition of effective leadership today?
@9HHGS232yrs2Y
The effectivenss of being a leader depends on the leader and the person. Forcing religion on someone doesn't always garentee a chritsian.
we can help support other cultures and not just our own
@ISIDEWITH2yrs2Y
What does 'stewardship of the Earth' from a Christian perspective mean for the environmental policies we should support?
@9HJ5HQVProgressive2yrs2Y
Christianity should not play a role in our society and government, nor should any other religion.
@9HJ53WK2yrs2Y
he responsible care and use of this planet's resources, recognizing that they belong to God and that He has given us the privilege of enjoying and caring for what He has created.
