What kind of impact do you think small, purposeful actions of kindness could make in your local area?

 @9JRKB39 from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

Alot. We need more Christians in our Community/State/Country

 @9JT3HN2Women’s Equality from New Mexico  agreed…1yr1Y

It provides a quantitative, objective, and persuasive platform on which to base an argument, prove a claim, or support an idea. Before a set of statistics can be used, however, it must be made understandable by people who are not familiar with statistics

 @9JRL3WP from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

I believe that small purposeful actions can make a difference in so many ways. It can create a more caring and empathetic environment for everyone. People need to be aware that there are many people out there that care about them and are willing to help.

 @9JRKBYYGreenanswered…1yr1Y

It would make a great impact. Everyone should deserve kindness and it would help everyone in a nice way.

 @9JRK6FTanswered…1yr1Y

I think that it is alright to show your faith in public but it should be accepted for all religions.

The concept of 'loving your neighbor' can shape the way we approach debates on social issues such as homelessness or healthcare by making Christians more likely to give back.

Understanding different situations and searching for ways to help instead of punish.

What does 'being a good Samaritan' look like in a modern context, and have you ever had such an encounter?

 @9JRKHJC from Washington  answered…1yr1Y

I think in the modern world a good samaritan would look like cleaning up after yourself, donating if you can, and helping people who are in a tough position.

 @9JRVT9F from Texas  agreed…1yr1Y

Because there is no reason for us to trash our world and there is no reason for us to not help someone that is struggling because you could be in the same position one day

 @9JRK8DBRepublicananswered…1yr1Y

Donating food and supplies to homeless, or even helping a buddy whos having a bad day can be examples of being a Good Samaritan.

 @9JRKZ8Sanswered…1yr1Y

if you ask me "being a good Samaritan" is someone who treats others in spite of their race and gender identity with kindness someone who doesn't look down on others simply because it is the right thing to do not, because they know that they will get something out of it. Kindness is paramount in this modern world, and we must understand that we will go nowhere unless we treat others with kindness.

 @9JRKBYYGreenanswered…1yr1Y

I've had some encounters, I think being a good samaritan in modern context would be cleaning up after yourself, throwing away trash from the floor, paying for the person behind you, and of course, being kind to everyone you meet, regardless if they dont show kindness back.

Why do you think some people are more motivated by religious teachings to engage in social activism than others?

 @9JHXXJQ from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

because some people have an image they think that they need to uphold

 @9JJB3S6Peace and Freedom from Arizona  disagreed…1yr1Y

People might engage in activism because of the injustices done to them or those that they have witnessed done to others, they may also engage in activism because they identify with particular struggles and social movements that align with how they relate themselves and their family to social and economic structures.

 @9JHXY4P from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

 @9JHYFWC from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

I think that the Christian religion likes to put their beliefs on everything they do and they believe that they are used by god as a vessel so they think god is speaking through them

 @9JJ6ZCNIndependent  from West Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

The religious dedicate themselves to serving a diety. If they believe the actions they take on social issues are matters of rightciousness and piety then they will automatically be more motivated then those who arent. The religious see this as a sacred duty, the irreligious fundamentally cannot.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

In your experience, how can engaging with people from different backgrounds enrich your own beliefs and values?

 @9JRCPTJ from California  answered…1yr1Y

There should be little religion involved in the gov as it can make a government corrupt and non functioning a prime example is the Islamic Republic of Iran. But I do agree to there being core values that stem from religion involved in the government.

How would you apply the principle 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' to today's Internet culture?

 @9HTTKR3Independence from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HTT482Independent from West Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

I'd show that there are consequences to actions that have been done, like say; you help someone with a project they are working on, online and they pass it with flying colors, and then they help you with something equally important, that's a consequence, or if you severely bully someone and then when you're at your lowest they start laughing at you is an example of a consequence.

 @9HTSZY7 from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

Uhm it would not be applied because over the internet people could care less of others opinion

Is it possible to practice the inclusive love that Jesus preached in a society divided by political ideologies and religious beliefs?

 @9H7KKT4Republican from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

it is difficult but it is possible and it is not meant to be easy but in my opinion the lord can pick you up out of the worst

 @9H7K46JIndependent from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H7KLWC from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

I do not think that it should exist because there are many other religions that should be represented and if only one religion does it all the others should be able to do it to without backlash.

 @9H7KC6D from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

No, it's really not possible in the modern day. Most Americans are caught up in anti-racism, political debates, protests, feminism, etc.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Does the idea of using Jesus's teachings to advocate for political change resonate with you, or should religion stay out of politics?

 @9H3PDP5 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

No religion has nothing to do with politics and 9 times out of 10 someone is gonna use their religion to scare you into submission of doing something you don't want to do. Those are two different worlds, keep them separate.

 @9H3PHJ3 from Wisconsin  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, religion should stay out because if people want to be a certain religion they can be and if they dpn't want to then don' make them.

 @9H3PJS2 from Illinois  answered…2yrs2Y

religion should stay away from [politics becuase there is no need for peoples personal beilefs to be included in laws.

How would you apply the Christian principle of 'the least of these' to modern day policies affecting marginalized communities?

 @9H9HCY9  from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

I am a religious person because religion is important to me however I would not force its teachings onto people.

 @9H5MNDV from Michigan  answered…2yrs2Y

It’s hard to say. I believe Christianity can be both good as believing in something and praying and putting it in a higher powers hand so things get better is good and should not be frowned upon. But using it to spread your hate for those you deem less than is horrid.

 @9H5PLFDfrom Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

I am a strong believer in secular democratic principles. No religion should dominate law or government.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What do you think about the idea that kindness and compassion could be more influential in politics than power and money?

 @9HJHQ74Democrat from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

I consider that money will always be a great influence in government decisions

 @9HJHPLH from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H7S9F7Women’s Equality from Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Should the compassion and social teachings of Jesus be a guiding force in crafting today's government policies?

 @9H84QTX from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I feel like no one should be force to learn about a religion but the people that want to know and learn should be able too.

 @9H7KMHJIndependent from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

No, because not everyone in the government and citizens have the same beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs, and it is unfair if people's governments are based off of just one belief. For Muslim people, having a Christian ran government won't be beneficial to them.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you believe Christian values can lead to meaningful change in areas like health care, education, and welfare, or is that expecting too much from a religious framework?
