How would you promote your favorite extracurricular activity if school clubs were selected by democratic vote?

 @9JC8N5C from Tennessee  commented…1yr1Y

 @9JT5FLD from California  answered…1yr1Y

I will explain and. show the other students how the club is with pros and against

 @9JT6N2H from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

 @9JT6LSL from Ohio  answered…1yr1Y

Track allows for a healthy and quick way to get in shape, become more healthy, lose weight, and even let out some of the competitive energy that other students may have built up.

If you could influence one social issue through a public vote, which would you choose and why?

 @9KF4YSTRepublican from Iowa  answered…1yr1Y

Hating each other. We need to come together as a country.

 @9KLPR65Women’s Equality from Georgia  agreed…1yr1Y

The constant oppression of any marginalized community. All the demonization of anything viewed as different has been the main cause of social conflict within our country.

Would you be more likely to follow school rules if they were created by a student majority?

 @9J3555W from California  answered…1yr1Y

I dont really care either way school will always suck

 @9J37MCKSocialist from Minnesota  disagreed…1yr1Y

Yes, I think that moving any entity towards a more democratic system will result in an overall more satisfied population.

 @9J36F43 from California  answered…1yr1Y

If the student is stable and there Morales and values are outstanding then yes i have no problem siding with them. But if the student is chaotic then no i would no hear or agree with there opinion.

 @9J35726answered…1yr1Y

 @9J35PTYIndependent from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

because it would take into account the wants and needs of people like me who understand what it is really like to be in the situation of school at my age. they would be more comprehensive to what students actually need and want.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

If you could use a mobile app to vote on school policies in real-time, what would you vote for first, and why?

 @9HYDKZZPeace and Freedom from California  answered…1yr1Y

I would have to see what side offers what and how things that might state benefit me and people around me.

 @9HYDTBT from Virginia  answered…1yr1Y

I only vote for the people that will keep there promises and not because of what party they are in..

 @9J25G7NRepublican from Florida  disagreed…1yr1Y

because that would make it easy for fake votes to come in and also they dont know what and whom they are voting fot.

 @9HYDNMK from Wisconsin  answered…1yr1Y

so its easier to count one by one while votes come in and it is tracked on an app

 @9HYDZG8Republican from California  answered…1yr1Y

I would vote for less rallies that waste the time of everyone and don’t do anything.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

If students could determine the dress code through a vote, what changes would you expect to see, and why?

 @9JNLHCX from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

I wouldn't want to see any changes. Being different makes us unique. Some would probably argue that the "goth" look should be eliminated because it may give off a negative, dark view of a person. Provocative clothing because it could be distracting and baggy clothes because it can reveal underwear and too much of the person's body.

 @9JNLJ6H from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

 @9JNLFML from Michigan  answered…1yr1Y

I would expect to see dress codes for schools around the country become less strict as most students are against dress codes and are advocates for less strict dress codes.

How would you encourage your friends to participate if community volunteer projects were chosen by local vote?

 @9LGFPZR from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

 @9LGFZ9G from California  answered…1yr1Y

 @9LGFXVR from California  answered…1yr1Y

We can contact our government officials when we want to support or change a law. Voting in an election and contacting our elected officials are two ways that Americans can participate in our democracy.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How might the curriculum be different if educational content was decided by a democratic process?

 @9JGTQY9Democrat from Minnesota  answered…1yr1Y

The things taught in school could change to give the idea to lean more to the left

How might allowing public votes on zoning laws reshape your town or city neighborhood's development?

 @9L2QM8R from Alabama  answered…1yr1Y

We would have input of the actual development on town.

 @9L34STLWorkers from Illinois  agreed…1yr1Y

Democracy is built on listening to everyone. If the option to be heard is not present then how can their laws really be viable to enforcement? Shouldn't the people also have a right to at least give their piece?

 @9L2QZ5P from Alaska  answered…1yr1Y

I think it could break up the city into different parts then that could be helpful but at the same time might cause delays and issues with funding and construction.

 @9L2QQ2R from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

What would be the first thing you'd change about your school environment given the chance to vote?

 @9KG94Q7 from California  answered…1yr1Y

I would maybe make it more united and less two-sided. It feels like you are either stuck with unmotivated underachievers or incredibly annoying tryhards that are very judgmental.

What are your thoughts about minority rights in a system where the majority makes the decisions?

 @9H83PC2 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

I agree with the rights about popular democracy. I like how the people are able to make their own decisions and discuss with others to make the world better. I think this is a better way to help bring people together and break barriers.

 @9H827W6 from Arkansas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H82MSZRepublican from Arkansas  answered…2yrs2Y

well minority should not rule majority and i think that the minority should follow the same basic rights

 @9H8ZHGTDemocratanswered…2yrs2Y

Minority rights should be heard as well although they are not the winning side. It is good to go buy all opinions if they do make a good point.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you think that broader public participation would improve the quality of political decisions, and why?

 @9H4KM9S from Arizona  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, politics should be about what the people want and if people don’t participate that can’t happen. This is not the same thing as forcing voting down people’s throats.

 @9H4294R from Washington  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, greater participation better reflects the opinions of the people. The United States Constitution begins with the phrase "We the people", referring to those who are living within the land of the United States as citizens. The greater amount of people participating in political decisions, the better our government can actually hear our opinion and take action.

 @9H4G56Danswered…2yrs2Y

How would you feel if the quality of your school lunch depended on the majority’s dietary preferences?

 @9HT3FBN from New York  answered…1yr1Y

What personal experiences have led you to trust or mistrust the judgment of the majority in society?

 @9HDQLB5 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9HDQ3DN from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

Seeing how the world is now makes it so hard to trust the majority of the society.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Imagine if citizens could propose and vote on laws through an app; what are the pros and cons of such direct involvement?

 @9HJBRFY  from Massachusetts  answered…2yrs2Y

Most people's phones are not very secure and their voting could be monitored by 3rd parties and their information sold. Additionally fake apps would be made to target the technologically illiterate and use their provided data to falsify their votes through official apps and vote in the interests of private entities. Pros do not outweigh risks or cons at all.

How would you feel if school holiday schedules were set by parent and student votes rather than the school board?

 @9HKWPSH from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

It would give the people more power and make the system more equal. Especially the Board of Education power system.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you think that a 'wisdom of the crowd' approach could help solve complex societal problems better than experts alone?

 @9HLBK8X from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, because people are more likely to listen to people who aren't seen as government power or "put on a pedestal", I think they could have some really good ideas and solutions.

 @9HLB6WB from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would you advocate for something you care about if it wasn't popular among the majority?

 @9HY2XCQ from California  answered…1yr1Y

By simply stating my opinion in a non-partisan way that does not attack anybody of any ideology.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you believe that everyone, regardless of their level of education or political awareness, should have an equal say in government?

 @9H6TQFD from Mississippi  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, that’s the entire idea of democracy. Politics create discussion and when somebody heeds the call to vote it invites conversations that could potentially change output, views and ultimately educate voters on the topics that are being polled on. Everyone deserves equal footing in government and we should communicate with each other more diplomatically rather than treating politics as a war against each other.

 @9H6THN3 from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

Depending on how much you know about certain topics, that must be the amount of power or say can be bestowed upon you.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do you feel about every individual's vote having equal weight in shaping the laws and policies of your country?

 @9H7YB7H from Arkansas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H7XFQ8 from Nebraska  answered…2yrs2Y

I like that idea. That's one of the reason's I don't like the electoral college. People are more educated now-a-days, and we should all have a say in what happens in this country.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Can you see the benefits or the downsides if gym class activities were chosen through a majority student vote?

 @9KVH5XP from Arkansas  answered…1yr1Y

I can see both. If they choose what they would want do it could leave them unstimulated and doing the same thing everyday or without structure. It could also do the opposite effect and the students could learn how to collaborate and stimulate their minds.

 @9KVGYK7  from Oregon  answered…1yr1Y

I think that students aren't able to fully understand the benefits and losses and therefore are not qualified to determine it.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How do you think having regular town-hall meetings where citizens vote on local issues would change your engagement with the community?

 @9JHM3RT from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I believe it’s about letting people know about these meetings. No one would actually show up if there not informed and we as people have to see what’s the reason of going. I think people lack context when it comes to doing meetings. A lot of the time I don’t understand how certain political issues apply to me and I dismiss it.

 @9JHLXS4Republican from Connecticut  answered…1yr1Y

It would be good for the town to have local meetings. I say that because the more local meeting you have the better understanding you will have of the people around you and you can make a educated decision on rules for whatever the topic of discussion is.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Do you think it's fair for the most popular extracurricular activities to get the most funding, as decided by student vote?

 @9KTCF7R from Georgia  answered…1yr1Y

Yeah I think the extracurricular activities get the most funding because they are bringing the school in the most money

 @9KTC4FYanswered…1yr1Y

I don't think its fair for the most popular extracurricular get the most attention and that all activities should get the most attention.

What if your city's public spaces were transformed based on suggestions voted on by residents?

 @9L9W5RS from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

If my city´s public spaces were transformed based on suggestions I would hope it would be helpful for others to get around and grow the environment they are in altogether. We would create better jobs for others to seek guidance and support from one another.

What if vacation destinations for family trips were decided by a family vote; how would that process make you feel?

 @9KW75RH from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

It wouldn't be as ideal because a vacation should be for everyone to enjoy equally.

 @83725V7  from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

I would feel as though everyone was able to make decisions based on their views and still be heard.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

If you had the power to implement one change in your current political system, what would it be and why?

 @9HCX28H from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Increased taxes on the rich to fund public projects like transportation and education.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

If you could cast a vote that directly changes something in your favorite sport or hobby, what would it be?

 @9JQHM9B from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

that playing sports from middle through high school should be paid by the government

 @9JQFTPS from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Fifth, more connected networks lead to higher turnout. This implication is consistent with the observation that participation is greater in high-salience elections.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

Can a system where policy is decided by majority vote truly reflect the diversity of society, and why or why not?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1yr1Y

How would it affect your views on justice if everyone had an equal vote in changing laws that directly impact your community?
