Why do you believe some traditions persist through generations, and can they adapt without losing their core values?

 @9RTN5N5 from Florida  answered…11mos11MO

I believe the core of a human- our WHY should hold strong. Eating healthy, taking care of ourselves ETC

 @9RTN2WWfrom Maine  answered…11mos11MO

Traditions can indeed persist through many generations and adapt without losing their core values - but they are usually best left to the past, especially if they are instrumentalized in order to enhance an oppressive and unjust status quo.

 @9RTMV9G from Pennsylvania  answered…11mos11MO

Family; family is strong within each one of us, and as children, we only remember the main parts. Therefore we can alter it without letting go of the original values.

 @9RTKD7L from Arizona  answered…11mos11MO

Most traditions can survive adaptation without the loss of any core values. A good example of this would be the LDS church. In nearly every aspect, the church appears as conservative as any other Christian denomination, but when you start to actually drill into the beliefs held by the church, there's a centrist element that drives nearly every belief and value. Most cannot be changed, but they all can learn from the passage of time. This is not a proselyte attempt. Just offering a view that asks that others look into it and see there's less to fear than one thinks.

 @9KWT2LK from California  answered…1yr1Y

A tradition that means a lot of probably basic but it would be Christmas because I feel like it's a great event that brings families together.

Can conservative liberalism's emphasis on a free-market economy benefit everyone equally, and why or why not?

 @9H9D792Progressive from New York  answered…2yrs2Y

No it inherently is designed to create inequity. While free market capitalism can be a force for good, it often develops into monopolistic tendencies which causes the system to devolve. So no I don’t think it impacts everyone equally, because it is designed to favor the wealthy industrialists.

When have you faced a choice between financial gain and ethical conduct?

 @9KN8VGB from Utah  answered…1yr1Y

What's an innovation that you think should be adopted in your community, and how would you convince others of its value?

 @9LDSQRD from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

I am biased but I would urge individuals to see the importance of a creator of the universe, God, an entity to follow. Therefore, people are obligated to do good for themselves and for others, and there are subsequent side effects of all actions. In cases of abortion and how many benefits homeless and criminals should have is already a current issue. If we could agree on the existence of God, then we could agree on the idea of these current issues America faces today.
