It looks like Hamas didn’t agree to “the ceasefire.” It agreed to “a ceasefire,” i.e to a proposal Israel hasn’t agreed to and maybe hasn’t even seen. That’s not how negotiations work, but it is how media manipulation works.

Hamas is in agony and seeks to thwart the military operation in Rafah by any means necessary. We must not yield to its deceptive maneuvers.

 @SpiritedPorcupineGreen from Georgia commented…2wks2W

Israel doesn’t accept it because it ruins their Rafah invasion plans.

Netanyahu already said ceasefire or not, they are in fact still gonna bomb Rafah

The conditions of surrender were for hamas to surrender plus the hostages.

This does not meet the conditions for surrender.

I don't understand. I thought they agreed to the terms.

 @Bureaucr4tFishPatriot from North Carolina commented…2wks2W

The only condition which is not met is leaving Hamas in power. Israel has stated for many months prior that they would not accept any surrender that allowed Hamas to remain in power.

This is what Hamas approves: Israel withdrawals and Hamas keeps subjugating and torturing Gazans, keeps receiving billions in aid, steals half and uses the other half to build tunnels and buy weapons.

If you were in the position to decide, would you accept a temporary peace that might not address all concerns, or hold out for a more comprehensive solution?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2wks2W

How important is it for both sides of a conflict to compromise, and is there ever a point where compromise goes too far?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2wks2W

What feelings arise when you think about the civilians living in areas of conflict like Gaza?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2wks2W

Do you think a ceasefire should prioritize immediate peace or long-term solutions, even if they're harder to achieve?

 @9M7MSTRRepublican  from Indiana answered…2wks2W

I belive that ceasefire should prioritize long term solutions. Although this may be harder to achieve it will be more beneficial in the long run.

How would you feel if your community was caught in the middle of such a conflict, and a proposed ceasefire was rejected?
